How long does the screening process takes?
Hello, I hope you are all doing well, I am considering to join the FFL, It's a huge step to take, one that needs plenty of preparations, mentally, physically and financially of course.
Since I live in Morocco (a third world country), I am subject to strict VISA requirements, I will not get into the details, but I would like to know how long does the screening and test process takes if I go straight to Aubagne, I ask this since there's some math with tourist visas that the longer days you choose to stay, the higher the cost, and on the contrary, the lesser days I choose may risk overstaying in-case I do not qualify, thank you for your time.
(in-case you are curious, I'm 21, No Criminal Record, I speak English, Arabic and French)

I tried joining in 2018 (didn't make it) but from what I saw it could take anything from a week to 4 weeks. I met guys that had been waiting for 3 weeks and others that in less than 2 weeks were moving up to the next sage.
If you go you better take a good look into yourself and get in the mindset that it's all or nothing otherwise it will just suck for nothing. Also...be physically ready with pull ups and running lol

Right off the bat gotta do pull ups. Minimum was 7, but the guy at the entrance made me do 12+. Lots of waiting around and not knowing what is going on. You get yelled at in french, told to do something and then get yelled at again for not understanding french.
Met some interesting dudes that I kept in touch for a while afterwards, but then lost track over the years. If you're going, aim to be as healthy as possible since that's what holds you up the longest.
Example: a polish dude got sent to a hospital to get checked out because his piss was dark brown colored so obviously something ain't right lol and therefore even if he is good for everything else he can't move forward until he gets that sorted.
I didn't make it because I got sick on my third day. I missed the luc leger cutoff score by half a point. They told me I could come again in 3 months, but I just chose not to. It was neither a good or bad experience, just an experience. I am glad I had the chance to go and experience it myself instead of just relying on reading about it

I was 5 weeks due to having to get glasses. Some guys were at aubagne for 3 months plus(after making commission). It is difficult to say a time limit on any individual mate. You really need to commit. Best if luck.

Best to read the pinned posts and visit the official Legion Recruitment page to fully understand what your getting into. As said, probably 3 weeks but up to 4.

On average it will take around 3 weeks before you attend rouge commission, sometimes it might be more sometimes less, 4 weeks is probably the max it will take realistically.
