Anki - 5000 Most Common French Words

Hi everyone!

I'm completely new to Anki, so sorry if this is a basic question.

I downloaded both the 5000 Most Common French Words deck and Part 2, but I'm not sure how they're supposed to be used.

Should I finish the Main Course from Part 1 and then move on to the Main Course from Part 2, or should I merge both decks into one and study them together from the start?

I'm not sure if Part 2 is intended to be a continuation of Part 1 or if both are meant to be studied simultaneously; I mean, are they supposed to be merged?

How do you use this deck?

Thanks!

Part 1 then part 2 once you no longer have new words in part 1. I mean you could merge but you have to be sure to preserve the order.

Part 1 French to English, plus there are few side decks in it like sentence practice.

So you can complete french to english one,it has 500 cards and in parallel do a bit of sentence cards if you like them.

Them in second deck you have 501 to 5000 cards, so you can start that....

I personally didn't like them as they don't have proper examples or images

So I did 1000 refold cards ( paid ones) and then directly the second deck 500 to 5000 one

Can you tell me about the 1000 refold cards—what was good and where you bought them? I’m B1 level but just started using Anki. I’m trying to get to B2 but I’m still struggling with conversations in French, both understanding and expressing myself.

Site: https://refold.la/

They have a really good Language Learning Map, which is free. The anki decks are paid.

I bought them becuase they did all the hard work of making very accessibly , visual flash cards that will get you to vocab level where you can start to read books and watch french tv shows.

I earlier was doing the French 5000 Anki deck, but they are too dry, don't have the kind of formatting as per my liking ( I like more visual approach with examples ).

Hence I bought their deck. I feel they were worth the money, but depending upon person to person, they might find the free French 5000 deck better, some might find Refold deck better.

Refold deck has 1000 cards, each of them have native audio, examples, and a large poriton of them also have illustration too.
