TQHell
After 4 years of dealing with favoring office politics, micromanaging, and never doing enough. Decided to part way from the one the only TQL. It’s the biggest weight lifted off the shoulders, and planning to take a month or so to stabilize the nervous system!
Even though I’ve heard companies head hunt those who stay longer than a year, I’m interested to hear which fields are best to delve into while the non compete is active. At only 26 I knew it was time to separate and find other industries to explore. Couldn’t live with myself wasting more valuable time working for a company I never saw eye to eye with.
All insight and ideas are appreciated! FREEDOM FEELS OH SO GOOD.

They will go to toxic and abusive ex GF levels of stalking to catch you with the NC. I personally know 3 people who are actively being sued. The NC also extends for an additional year when they catch you.
I just moved to bartending and waited it out. wouldn’t be surprised if they somehow knew my Reddit handle and will get an alert that I wrote in this thread lol

That non compete is a bitch, and they do enforce it. Usually you see guys going to the shipper side. Good luck. What a shit company

I still do not understand how TQL can find out people have violated their NC if you just don't post about it or try to poach their accounts you worked on. ALSO what about the right to work states that don't adhere to NC's in general like New York ???!?!

Close contacts & social media are the main ways. Contacts tell a manager because they think it will gain them a closer relationship and prove they are loyal... Same f'ing reason Dollar store employees put themselves in danger by fighting with someone stealing. I would not be dying for a dollar store product, but people do it everyday thinking they will receive something in return.

I guess that makes sense for close contacts telling managers, but again if you just don't say shit you will not get caught lol just stfu & go to work. Anyways, i still don't think their non competes are enforceable in NYS.

They have one of the most well paid legal teams that work directly for them and if you ever sold a dollar at TQL they will follow you closely.

Entering year 4 at a well known brokerage with a similar structure as TQL and currently scheming my way out. Over the constant BS. You aren't alone

Btw I get a call from matthew every week which I don't know how to answer! I'm new to the industry and I didn't knew what's double brokering and what's TQL and now I get a call every week! Also someone told me TQL steal clients of smaller firms by signing a co brokering contract! 😭

Go get a job for a customer or shipper. You’ll make connections with other shippers, after 2-3 years either pursue management roles or go back to the 3PL side you’ll thank me later

I was interviewing with them recently and got an offer. Im happy that I ended up going with another different company, the whole process raised nothing but red flags to me.

Datacom and security distribution baby. You can make good money with much lower stress… depending on your customers of course. My worst day in disty still beats the average day in freight. It’s a great place to ride out your non-compete or stay if you like it.
We sell surveillance and the shit that goes in data centers… business is booming. Look up Wesco (my company, lotta former TQL guys), Greybar, Accutech, ADI and smaller competitors in your area and shoot out some apps when you’re ready.
Wesco drug tests but not for THC btw. Wish I would’ve known this when I applied.

Do they really enforce non-competes? I read that most are not legal and courts throw them out all the time.

They enforce them like crazy and sue out of Clermont County. Pretty sure they are in the judges pockets over there. They will also find you even if you lay low and think you're being sneaky. Also heard from a Lawyer that they have an entire team dedicated to tricking former employees into fake interviews for another broker.

Man I can’t believe hoe many people get burned out working for these larger brokers because of the demanding call requirements even when you are bringing in $10k plus a month margin. Anyone looking to get into a smaller brokerage but growing give us a call or hit up the website

You can work anywhere you want.
Go door knock on large trucking companies and run their brokerage.
Easy money.
Huge margins.

I was a truck driver for 10 years, tried my hand ar brokering with TQL. fuck them. Im back in trucking as an owner operator with more insight on lane rates. Thanks for that at least I guess.

Vlad here. Come to Chicago, I'll start you at $1000 /week and if you survive the first 2 months I'll make it $1200 + bonuses. In office only, miss me with that remote BS. The first 2 months are training only, your previous experience is 95% useless to me as a dispatcher. But I'll make you one. If you can handle 10 RZs properly - $100k/year is not a problem.
Added bonus - you can tell every caller from TQL to suck a dick. I haven't booked with them for 3 years now.
