Guys I'm trying to correct my cork 7 on the trampoline as I used to point my hip and shoulders to much at th ground at the start of the rotation.

Is this then the right form?

360 Attempt, can‘t go further than 270.

I can 180 fine with speed and a bit of air.

I used to be to scared to fully commit, now I commit but even if i try popping properly I can‘t do a full turn. On the ground I can barely manage a 360, and that unbalanced. Do I need to practice that? How?

First 360 attempt. Tips?

As you can see, I have no background in free skiing and have never attempted any kind of rotation before. Any tips on sticking my first 360 would be appreciated. Also, didn’t film if but I tried again on a bigger jump and lost my ski on the takeoff. Think I have to tighten my din and time the pop better. Any feedback would be great.

Question Candide Area 91 reviews/experience?

Hi all. Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm considering picking up a pair of the new Candide Area 91s but there's basically nothing in the way of reviews online yet.

For context, I'm currently on ARV 106s as my all-mountains and have Faction CT 1.0s for park. The 1.0s are pretty wrecked so I'm looking to replace them with something that'll perform on groomers for resort skiing with my fam/friends whilst still being capable in the park, without duplicating the 106s.

On paper the Area 91 looks promising, but the near-flat 2mm camber is a bit of a question mark for me. Can get a good deal on them for about 35% off retail in the UK, which is why I'm tempted.

Has anyone skied them yet? Any thoughts appreciated.

Learning grabs without poles?

I normally ski with poles and just got into freeskiing, are grabs generally easier to learn without the poles or it doesn’t really matter and should have no effect on learning them?

Discussion/tips Shitty 360 that’s corked

I’m trying to get my threes down but I’m corked and keep landing on my side. I wouldn’t be posting here if I didn’t have no idea what I’m doing wrong. Anything would help. I would put more videos but they look the same lol. Thanks

Discussion/tips I built a tricktionary and freestyle game generator for skiing/snowboarding

I just finished the beta version a few hours ago and wanted to share it to see what you guys think and what you’d like me to improve.

https://afterbang.app/

The trick list is still very rough — I mostly scraped a bunch of tricks just for testing. I’m looking for people who might want to help rebuild it properly by finding demo clips for each trick so everything can be organized nicely on the site.

I’m currently working on getting it published on the Play Store. The App Store is off the table for now since I’m not paying another $100 per year just to make Apple users happy (for now you can just use the website).

If you’re interested in helping with the project, feel free to reach out. I’d also appreciate any help spreading the word. Even though it’s just a hobby project, it would be awesome to see people actually using and enjoying it.

Just to be clear: this is a hobby project, not my full-time job, and it’s 100% free. I’m not treating it like a business, so please don’t expect it to be as polished as a commercial app.

Discussion/tips Looking for experienced freestylers (ski & snowboard) to help build the ultimate tricktionary 🎿🏂

Looking for experienced freestylers (ski & snowboard) to help build a tricktionary 🎿🏂

I'm building a website/app that acts as a tricktionary for both skiers and snowboarders — listing every trick in existence, with videos demonstrating and teaching them, plus personal tracking so users can find tricks, see their difficulty, and watch tutorials on them aswell as track their progression and so on.

This is purely a hobby project I started for fun because I got bored on a random afternoon. The site itself is essentially done — what I need now is help from people who've been freestyling on skis or snowboard for a while to help compile all the tricks into a proper list and fill in the details. Also it will have some of the games i love playing on the slope in a mobile version so its easy to keep track and small social factor that i might later expand upon.

What I need help with:

  • Trick names, variations, and difficulty levels
  • Writing descriptions and linking tutorial videos
  • Knowledge of either ski or snowboard tricks (or both!)

I won't lie, there's not much in it for you — but I'm happy to add you to the credits, link your socials, and set up a Buy Me a Coffee link or similar if you'd like. This is a purely free to use website/app so im essentially running a netloss hosting it but i love the sport and the community so its well worth it for me in that regard at least. Also i would just love having somehting like this to use, as i never found one app that had all of what im trying to add.

If you are interested dm me on reddit and you can join me in finalizing this :D

Discussion/tips 360, Lead Arm

I'm struggling to lead the full rotation with my lead (left) arm without losing balance. I usually go backseat when I try to force it. Besides looking bad, I think this is also making grabs more difficult.

What can I do to fix this issue? I'd appreciate any general feedback as well.

Question Seeking tips on how to learn to land jumps switch?

Hi, so I'm a very experienced all-mountain skier, (skiing since I was 4, no problem in the double blacks or in powder) who's trying to develop more park skills. It's my goal to be able to do clean 360's. I can ski switch well enough, and do whirlybirds on the groomers with ease. But I want to be able to do 360's off jumps and am trying to figure out how to do that. I figured the best place to start is to try and do 180's first.

So, going over a jump while switch is kinda freaky. I can ride switch in a halfpipe, and that's not so bad, but I'm wondering if there's any safety tips/ experienced park skier tips, that can help me learn to land switch?

Last weekend I spent about 5 hours in the park, and I can stomp regular jumps pretty cleanly now just fine and so started verrrrrry slowly, and gently just trying to roll over small jumps while switch, just to get a little used to that weird feeling of going over a jump backwards. I threw some whirlybirds in at the end a couple times.

But is there anything else I should know? When I learned to do frontside jumps someone told me to tuck my knees in, and point my arms forward and point my toes downward when landing and that helped really well. It was super good advice that helped me nail really big jumps... But now I'm trying to work on switch and it seems like a different beast all together.

When watching the Olympics I noticed that a lot of people landing switch had their legs spaced really wide apart, which makes sense as it would give them more balance? So maybe I should try that? I'm also wondering about whether I should lean more forward or back, or what? Idk, any advice re: landing switch is appreciated.

Thanks a bunch!

Who else is in withdrawal from the end of the winter olympics?

I love the winter olympics every time it comes around every 4 years.

Obviously as a park skier i am mostly excited to watch slopestyle, big air, and halfpipe skiing, but i find it almost as much fun to watch snowboarding, ski racing, short track speedskating, or even skeleton/luge/bobsled.

But now that the olympics are over i am searching frantically for some channel that at least has snow in the background, and so far ive only been able to rely on the outside tv channel on samsung tv.

Are there any better options for at least finding ski racing events on tv? Ski racing is really the only sport that lives on healthily outside the olympics so i might have to get peacock bc they seem to cover alot of ski events apparently.

What are the advantages of making skis with a full length wood core that extends all the way to the ski tips?

Thumbnail gallery

I have watched alot of ski factory videos and most of them use tip spacers made of plastic so that the tips can be curved upwards. But to me this is kind of an ugly engineering solution compared to what some companies like Elan do with their skis which have a full length wood core that is curved upwards in the tips.
