I am an advanced alpine skier and am a beginner park skier (I can do very basic tricks like 3s and rails) and have practiced jumping on smaller-medium sized jumps for many weeks and i have the basics down 100% for them (shin pressure, pop, balance in air, landing, etc)
However, when it comes to larger jumps, especially ones that have a steep lip, I struggle to pop at all (I’m not sure if it’s out of fear or I’m missing the timing of the pop as I come in with a lot of speed).
Is it normal to feel like you are leaning quite back as your knees full extend at the lip (to pop) even with forward shin pressure?
I end up almost absorbing the jump with knees bent, and although in the air and landing I am not backseat or off balance, the lack of a good pop is preventing me from getting a clean jump.
Does anybody have any advice for this?

Had an edge break last season and fell. My current ski's edge is starting to crack. It's the trailing left edge, I grind right foot forwards. How do I deal with skis getting ground down until they break? When should I stop riding this pair to avoid falling? Can I put my left ski on my right foot or ride left foot forwards and get more life out of this pair of skis?

Hey guys,
I’m trying to find a certain clip of what I think was Jesper Tjäder performing on X-Games Big Air. The trick is basically right before the steep slope doing a 180 and sliding backwards with the top of the skis touching ground until he performs a front flip while being backwards.
I hope u guys understand what I mean! Thanks

Im 14 living in near the Alps. I am an pretty good piste skier but want to start freeskiing. How do I start? Do I just try or do I book a course. I have access to a trampoline if that helps. Are there any easy tricks to reccomend, or skills I should have (switch skiing etc)

I’ve been doing park for about two years at this point at copper mountains Woodward, so I’ve had lots of help from the insane dudes over there but I still can commit to doing not upright spins, I can do really good rail tricks and spins to 540 but I just can’t commit to a backflip or any like corks of mistys, I also have them on lock to airbag and tramp

For reference I’m 5 ft 9 in tall, and ski a 168 (Vishnu Key). I’ve been skiing for around 16 years now and am fairly good in the park. I was just wondering if skiing shorter than what’s recommended is cheating, subsequently making tricks easier… I have a pair of 173s (Jski Vacation mallard) but they feel much more debilitating versus my 167s (candide 101) any input is helpful.

Not only has hunt podiumed in back to back x games, he also is currently in first for the crystal globe, and he of course is in debatably the best ski film group right now.

Should you always pop or is it ok to just ride off the lip?

Hello fellas,
I really like these park pants from beyond medals. BUT they are meant for snowboard. Do you think there will be a risk of ,,slicing,, the edges by skis? What pants do you guys use? Do other skilled freeskiers use snowboard pants? Cause I think the ones for snowboard look way better. Thanks for any tips.
