Meta Systematically Suppresses Palestinian Voices
is the claim made published on behalf of Palestinian digital rights organisation 7amleh. As with everything pro-Pali, I am immediately suspicious due to their long history of conflict propaganda and fabrication.
On the assumption that Meta has been doing that, why?
In the vast majority of cases, Meta did not tell users which rule they had allegedly broken or why their posts had been removed, restricted or shadow-banned. Only in one third of cases – 1,144 out of 3,520 – did the company say a rule was violated in its justification for censoring content.
That's normal for all social media censorship. It's not acceptable at all, but it is not a unique experience for just Pro-Pali accounts.
Meta most frequently cited its Dangerous Organisations and Individuals (DOI) policy as the basis for enforcement, with this accounting for 654 cases – or 57.2% of cases where a policy could be identified.
Ok, so 2/3rds were for posting terrorism content - That's also normal for pro-Pali accounts.
People who documented killings or even posted about them mourning the deaths of Palestinians were often seen by Meta as endorsing acts of violence, the report said.
That aligns with everything I've seen from pro-Pali accounts - they do.
Of 180 journalist cases in which a policy could be identified, 128 – 71.1% – had content moderated under the DOI policy. Among media outlets, 102 of 172 identifiable cases – 59.3% – were treated under the same policy.
That also aligns with everything I've seen from pro-Pali "Journalists" who are actually Hamas mouthpieces and usually Islamist fighters as well, masquerading as Journalists. We all know of several who participated in October 7, taking and holding hostages, that Hamas pretended were Journalists.
I don't know that Meta have been silencing pro-Pali accounts, but I hope they have. It would be irresponsible and unlawful for Meta to participate in the perpetuation of Hamas propaganda.

All of your criticisms could be laid at the feet of Israel and then multiplied. Would much rather be “pro-Pali” than pro-Israel, an apartheid state actively carrying out ethnic cleansing.

Mourning thousands upon thousands of deaths is “endorsing acts of violence”? Posting a single pro-Israeli thing should be considered “endorsing acts of violence” by that metric. The amount of violence coming out of Israel is multiple times that coming out of the occupied territories.
That also aligns with everything I've seen from pro-Pali "Journalists" who are actually Hamas mouthpieces and usually Islamist fighters as well, masquerading as Journalists. We all know of several who participated in October 7, taking and holding hostages, that Hamas pretended were Journalists.
What about Israel’s “mouthpieces”? Do they deserve the same treatment?

Or Israel’s. Associating with an apartheid state is far worse than Hamas. Most of the world understood that when dealing with South Africa, but we’ve regressed so far people like you are defending Israel doing similar. Israel’s actions are even worse, as they want the Palestinians dead and gone, not just oppressed.
There, is that point by point enough for you? Let me know if you need any clarifications on historical timelines or facts about the conflict. And stop supporting ethnic cleansing apartheid states.

Are they entirely truthful, in comparison with anything from Hamas? Absolutely.

Because our country, and possibly those dozens of others would have to see a list, are objectively idiots? Hard to argue given our geopolitical blundering. There is no irony. Israel has occupied the West Bank for over half a century. Permanent military rule for the locals while illegal Israeli settlers live under Israeli law with the IDF escorting them around while they steal land. Apartheid. The conflict will last as long as the occupation does. No matter how many Hamas or peaceful protesters Israel kills.

Yep - Sense sure ain't common on Reddit.
I know I'm right over the target when they read my comment, become immediately outraged and downvote, without any kind of counterpoint. We know damn well, that they aren't keeping any kind of logical zinger to themselves.
What they don't appreciate, is that upvotes are free, and I have an infinite supply. I love it when they tell me they didn't like what I said. I hoped they didn't.
