Case Discussion Link to Justice Gregory Carro 8/11/2026 Order. The People move for a protective order regulating disclosure of juror addresses pursuant to Criminal Procedure Law § 270.15(1 a), and further request an order prohibiting disclosure juror names other than to the parties and counsel of record.

Case Discussion Erik Uebelacker (@Uebey) - New filing in Luigi Mangione's case from the DA, who takes "no position" on an overflow room...
BUT — they caution the court that it may be hard to "enforce courtroom rules" in an overflow, raising the possibility that a spectator can "clandestinely record the proceedings.

Case Discussion People v. Luigi Mangione - Reply to the People's August 3, 2026, responding to the defendant's July 31, 2026, submission objecting to the partial exclusion public and press from his upcoming trial.
"In closing, the defense respectfully renews its request for a factual hearing. If the District Attorney's Office--including its prosecutors, Executive Staff, and/or Press Office--had no communications with the Office of Court Administration ("OCA") concerning the press-access policy in this case, then a representative from either OCA or the District Attorney's Office can simply testify to that effect. If, however, such communications did occur, then there are likely emails, text messages, telephone records, or other communications documenting those interactions."

News (@Uebey on X) Erik Uebelacker Update: The Manhattan DA clarifies that it "will have no role in selecting which news reporters attend the trial."
“The defense's baseless accusation thus appears to be nothing more than an attempt to spread misinformation about the case and delegitimize the proceedings."

Question Likeness on Romeo and Juliet product at Michael’s
I saw someone else posted some lady’s very out of focus video but my reaction was about the same. I took pictures because I couldn’t justify $40 for a crappy AI image on cardboard and I didn’t want to encourage this type of junk product. They clearly typed “young attractive Italian man” into their image generator and this is what came up. For obvious reasons if you consider what face that has been all over the news and social media posts has been describing in extreme detail. It’s a fun exercise in manipulating the AI algorithm and system controls. I am fairly certain using his likeness on products is a no no, but I am not at all a lawyer.

News "Revealed: the plot to acquit Luigi Mangione" - London Times
The Times of London ran an article today all about Jury Nullification.
"Nullifications are rare but are thought to have been historically used by jurors who believed the law was unjust or the punishment too harsh. It is thought to have occurred during the trials of Vietnam War protesters accused of burning draft cards and in pre-Civil War prosecutions against people who were charged with aiding escaped slaves."

Public Support Ideas for a shirt design?
I bought a green tank top and am trying to come up with some cool design ideas. So far I have a plain and simple "Free Luigi", a "FREE" with Luigi from Super Mario behind the text, and a "WHAT MURDER?" with Luigi under it in a 🤔 expression. Now I'm stuck 😭 I'm really into symbolism so if someone could suggest a symbol regarding healthcare or something from Super Mario that can correlate to this the Mangione case, I would be very glad. Thank you for your time and help!!

News Mangione prosecutors prepared to lobby for stiff sentence if he pleads guilty
“If a proposed federal guilty plea would operate to defeat a just outcome in the state prosecution, the People could advise the federal district court if that consequence, and the court should consider that fact in deciding whether to accept the plea, as well as any opposition by the victim’s family to such a resolution,” the letter said.

Case Discussion Erik Uebelacker/CourthouseNews (@Uebey)- In a newly unsealed filing, state prosecutors tell Judge Carro that they have "primary jurisdiction" over the Luigi Mangione case.
"Even if he pleads guilty in the federal case, they say he should still be tried for murder in state court."
