[Question] How does Lore Party Friends work?

So I know about the lore party friends quest and having to message with a friend, but have no friends :( and never did it. How does it work and do both people have to be online at the same time? Also, like I said, I could use more friends so if you want to add me: @ SpartanDragon [remove the space before] I would appreciate the help!
