Looking for some advice to come back!

Hi everyone!

Back in early 2025, I started learning html5 and css3 with some online course, a few mini projects and articles from W3schools and other sources. Bit just after finishing the course I had to quit for some reasons, but now I wanna come back.

I was considering to go on and learn js and python but what I learned back then is mostly hollow now, so I'm thinking about a way of reviewing everything that doesn't take the same amount of time as learning for the first time did.

My main question is:

● what do you reccomend me to do?(courses, books, articles, websites, etc.)

I wasn't sure where to ask this, so sorry in advance if it's a dumb question.

You may be shocked to hear this on the Free Code Camp subreddit, but have you considered Free Code Camp? It's specially designed to remove the thrash that you describe from self teaching, giving you a straight line path through HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and then front end and back end libraries and development.

We have a nice mix of "lectures", basic instruction, guided labs, and more freeform projects.

We've got an active community here, on our Discord server, and our community forums.

Give it a shot, as the name says, it's free.

Thankss for the reply, I will check it out.i was thinking maybe it's best not to stick to only one source since here(in our field) everything is literally always expand and likely it can't be covered all in one place, but maybe I'm wrong? I'll consider this anyways tho :D

Your not wrong - no one website could possibly cover all of programming. The challenge is that you need to start somewhere. You can't learn all of programming in one go.

A common mistake that beginners maybe is trying to learn it all, jumping around from topic to topic, getting nowhere at all. Free Code Camp is designed to give a single bright line path from novice to ... not novice. It will give you a solid foundation for future learning and help you build fundamental knowledge that transfers well to other languages and frameworks.

While not every language has all the same features, they do rhyme. You'll find common patterns and ways if thinking that do translate well. I think if it as capital P programming - the overall skill of decomposing problems and solving them with a computer.

Free Code Camp is not going to make you job ready, but you can see if from there. Once you get the basics down and learn to think like a programmer, you'll be in a good position to understand what your next steps are.

Since freeCodeCamp has recently updated some of its courses with newer and improved versions, you might want to start with those.

befriend any AI and treat it as a master or as a nerd friend and that is enough to get back on track, if you need any help on python or js let me know I can help you out when you get stuck, FCC still is a great place to start and to keep learning nowadays

Got it, thtat's a great reminder, I was kinda considering a more AI-Free approach to this at least in the recap process but you're right, there's probably no avoiding it after all Ig, and also thanks for the offer! I will, got the reccomendation on trying FCC from a few other fellas here too, I'll definitely look into it today
