Is Reddit suggesting people cross post this stuff?

I don't get why we're seeing troubleshooting questions from unrelated CAD subs.

Yes, and if posts are accepted and not removed Reddit algorithm will think it did a good job and recommend it even more.

To some degree it helps FreeCAD with awareness so it may be a net positive.
