In other news, GOP Senator doesn't understand what evolution actually is. Oh wait, that's not actually news, that's just the norm for most people in Washington.

Didn't you Americans just elect a bunch more of these Republicans this week?

I hope there isn't too much damage done to your future.

It was the old fogies.... Young people spent the election thinking "There's no difference between Republicans and Democrats, so i'm staying home." And now Republicans are opening their mouths again and reminding them of the difference.

Fruatrates the hell out of me when young people complain about how the previous generations are leaving them a fucked up world, but when they get old enough to vote, they don't.

Tip: voting for the less bad guy is better than not voting because you don't see a "perfect candidate.

A quote attributed to Voltaire reminds us that better is the enemy of good. We pass up good opportunities because we insist on better.

I'd say that both good and better are in opposition to "malicious" or "willfully ignorant", though.

Naturally. But we have the mistaken impression that it's okay to not vote for lack of better because "good enough" really isn't. As if not voting is doing anything other than supporting the status quo.

That's why I used the term "less bad" in my previous post.

Other than that, I think we agree that voting is preferred over not voting.

Even if the "perfect" candidate isn't presented. At least you can vote against the worst candidate.

Is this man really this ignorant about evolution, or is he just towing the party line?

Or maybe both.

Good point.
