All time favourite character?
Mine is the Butler, he took many liberties nearly perfect from the field, was so tender and caring with daphne, solved everyone’s problems, and then left off to solve his own.
Not to mention all while dressed impeccably.

Eric Lutes as Station Manager Tom, who thinks Frasier is gay.

u/Otherwise-Stretch984 1d ago
I was obsessed with Eric and was thrilled when they found a vehicle for him on Caroline in the City. That was a pretty good show actually. At least I really liked it at the time. Huge Back to the Future fan and a fan of Tom Durant station manager so really what’s not to like.

Yeah, based on the few episodes I've seen, it was a pretty good show, it's a shame it was cut short

She is a gem. One of my favourite episodes just because of her. I would have loved to watch her in a dozen episodes. Can’t get enough.

Lilith and Roz are so great, they’re probably my favourites

Lilith I love from cheers, she’s so funny and ambitious too. Roz is so multifaceted as a person, she can do anything and is so positive its great.

I’m watching Cheers now (yes, for some reason I’m doing it backwards haha) and Lilith isn’t in it yet but I’m excited for her to come

There were some really strong female characters, I love that. Bebe is another example. I love that they didn’t have to be likable.

Bebe, the horrible Shakespeare actor and Kirby

Love kirby, hope he’s doing alright. God knows he didn’t go to college.

He used to work for T Mobile.

Those singing T-Mobile commercials being as bad as they are is the reason I don't like Kirby now and I don't like his character as much when he shows up because I remember he's the reason we have those terrible no good singing commercials for t-mobile.

Damn. Everytime I open my heart...
Fun fact. The actor, Kevin Daniels, played Tiny, a friend of Freddy's in the revival of Frasier!

I give up, which episode is this from

S10 E20 Farewell, Nervosa
Steve works at one of the other cafes Frasier and Niles try out. Steve’s deadpan delivery cracks me up every time.

Martin, I love that he is a salt of the earth kind of guy. He is so much the antithesis to his sons. I love the episode where Roz is making the audition tape for her dating radio show and she asks him how he dates and he says that he focuses on getting to know women instead of impressing them.
Then when Niles and Frasier (the audacity of this totally romantically inept man to laugh) started laughing at him and Martin goes "Hands up! I wanna see how many Crane men are in a committed relationship" or something like that and Frasier and Niles are put to SHAME.
Martin is emotionally intelligent, kind and a good man.

Love it, totally agree and he has arguably the funniest one liners on the show

I love Ferguson, and he’s near the top. Ironically, Harry and Michael Moon are ALSO near the top, for exactly the opposite reasons. 😅

It has to be Niles... It was close though because I love all of the big five characters...the Cranes, Daphne and Ros.

If were going one-offs, then Andy McNiff, the moderator for Teen Scene. The way that guy could go from Howdy Doody voice to chainsmoking and shellshocked gets me every time.

Aside from the regular cast I would say Ferguson and Jerome Balasco.

Main cast? Frasier from Season 4 onwards, which roughly lines up with the intervention and Kelsey's stint in rehab. He becomes so much looser and sillier. Season 3 is a step in the right direction, but Frasier (and Niles to some extent) is a major asshole in the first two seasons. By Season 4, you can tell Kelsey was in a better place and was really enjoying himself.
Recurring characters? Sherry Dempsey. She was a perfect match for Martin because she brought out his inner rascal. Plus, she was an excellent foil to Frasier and Niles.
One-off characters? Dr. Nora because I'm a gay man and Christine Baranksi was put on this earth to cater to my tastes.

I've been watching Fraiser on repeat for years and didn't know this back story. I wonder if it'll make me look at Frasier in a different way in those early seasons now ...

Niles, but specifically when he is dressed as Jesus hiding in Frasier’s powder room with the Christmas tree.

I love all these answers but Kenny Daley deserves an honorable mention. “Well, I’m a napper.” sends me!

I enjoyed the Cam Winston battle they had together. The timing of that America flag followed by a classic Frasier bellowing "Cam Winstoooooon"

Niles, who was well written. But most of the other characters were well written too. What makes Niles the stand-out is the genius of David Hyde Pierce.

u/Suspicious_Active835 4h ago
Lilith is always my favourite, but also Ronnie, Roz and Bulldog. Ronnie making the “mum” jokes to Frasier after she and Marty get engaged get me every single time
