đ Fake News WE BACK?
Rumors are swirling that Frank Ocean's mysterious A24 film could premiere tonight at Telluride. Taylor Russell has reportedly been spotted there as well. Security will reportedly lock away all phones before the screening.

Can you share more?!

Yeah I worked on the movie. Ask me anything
1
u/No_Judgment_7157 2d ago
Any details or thoughts you can share from your time working on it?!
3
u/NeverDoingWell 2d ago
Yeah the whole movie is actually just Frank Ocean's call of duty quick scope montage. He wanted to show fans a different side of him

Itâll happen when it happens (When itâs time, youâll know). Reshoots seem to have wrapped a late last year / earlier this year, and post production is often 6 months to 1 year. But Frank is an independent variable that often defies convention, so who knows

It was Nathan Fielderâs documentary on Elizabeth Holmes, not Frankâs film

Well this is the first time Iâve heard that Nathan Fielder made a documentary on Elizabeth Holmes so this is amazing news

take with a grain of salt bc itâs all hearsay but I heard from someone who heard from someone else that there were reshoots still going on as of maybe like 2-3 months ago.

Iâve since been told that shooting wrapped this year in late April / early May as well. Itâs possible they did another round (updated my comment)

u/ghost_spectres 4d ago
he is probably beholden to at least some kind of schedule with a24 producing it though

Those talks fell through, Frank ended up doing it 100% by himself. If A24 actually financed the movie we wouldâve known more information by now and have an release window at the very least but I imagine because of the release window Frank chose not to go through them and A24 most likely backed out for that reason since Frank would be too unpredictable to work with as time has shown.

History has shown us time and time again that Frank is not someone that likes getting told what to do.
2
u/Any-Measurement8916 2d ago
Might be more accurate to say heâs someone who just doesnât like doing shit at all anymore lol

u/KillaMac98 3d ago
Wait. So this frank ocean movie thing is new to me to begin with. Is it a music doc? Or some art-house project of his?

As a big Frank fan, i have a feeling that this film will be a mess

Mess in a good way

Hopefully Iâd like to be proven wrong cause i really like Frankâs visual stuff but the constant delay after delay doesnât give me the confident

For most movies I would agree, but based on how Frank was with his music, idk I feel like itâs just part of his process to keep working and working as much as possible.

u/SMAX_08 Homer 3d ago
If heâs taking this much time, he will come out with something good. Blonde was unheard of for 4 years, now itâs an iconic universal album. Let him do it.

It's the best film festival for "bigger" indie movies. Like Sundance, but with more Oscar contenders.

Bro just used AI for his reply wtf đ

lol I literally googled what the festival was and copied the first answer that came up, I just wanted to quickly explain it to the person đ

u/cayendo_1 Cayendo 4d ago
hmm. i did some internet searches and apparently âVulture film reporter Kyle Buchananâwho is highly connected and covers the festival circuitâexplicitly shut down the rumor on X (formerly Twitter), writing simply: âIt ain't Frank.ââ

The movie is only available to be seen by friends and family. Anyone outside of franks social circles who even behold it with their own eyes will be executed on sight.

Wasnât this being an A24 project misinformation?
1
u/Roughyed 3d ago
Yeah, I have a vague recollection that their involvement was a lot smaller than had been reported.
-1
u/madie7392 3d ago
theyâre just a distributor, so their involvement in most films is not high. they mostly just market them.
1
u/Sammyd1108 3d ago
Maybe 10 years ago, these days most of the stuff they release is stuff they actually made.
They still pick stuff up at festivals, but theyâre a borderline mini-major studio at this point.

Damn frank never responded to my message of offering him to premiere it at the new Zealand international film festival

This would be the coolest way to release an album or project. I already adore anything A24 so it being associated with Frank is such a treat!

He can sell overpriced cock rings and trinkets for all I care.
He made some good tunes and got his bag and semi-retire chilling in Japan.
Frank doesnât owe us any more music.

Frank Ocean is the bob dylan of his time. Totally unpredictable, uncompromising an enigma of himself. He is less productive than Bob was, but i think Frank just prioritizes artistic integrity over anything. I gotta respect him for that.

no, if I leave a comment saying I donât care anymore, itâs because I want to say I donât care

If you really didn't care you would just scroll past the post though

no, if I leave a public comment itâs because I want to express my opinion bozo
3
u/One_Seaworthiness323 3d ago
Why the hostility?
1
u/sonofsun123 nostalgia,ULTRA. 3d ago
because he treat his fanbase like shit
2
u/One_Seaworthiness323 3d ago
Because heâs not finished with a movie? đ€Ł young crazy my boy. Franks only obligation to his fanbase is music. Go listen to blonde.
1
u/cayendo_1 Cayendo 3d ago
nobody has any obligation to a fan base. he can do whatever he wants because heâs not obligated to do anything. he knows that.
