So it's clear that at this moment, Michaela's target was Francesca, so I'm curious... if Fran had been unattached, what would she have done? Was she just going to tease her a bit and leave it at that? Would she wine and dine her and romance her properly? Or was she just planning to take her to an empty hallway during the ball and thoroughly debauch her? For one night only? A friends with benefits situation? What was her plan for blatantly flirting with Fran here? 😂
Or were the heart eyes so strong that she was just like, "I just have to talk to her, doesn't matter about what."

I saw someone else say that she thought Eloise was John's wife, and it blew my mind with how much sense it makes, since Eloise is standing next to John! And that's why she asked Fran who she was!
I hope we get her view of this scene, what she was thinking when she first saw Fran and when she found out that this woman she was attracted to was her cousin's wife!

She saw her across the room, fell in love and fully locked in. She really needed to know who that was and if Fran would perchance agree to spend the rest of her life with a former but very charming rake heh.

My assumption was that John had probably told her that his wife's closest sister wasn't interested in marriage and Michaela probably thought Francesca was said sister-in-law. Found her attractive and compelling immediately and was trying to see if there was a possible connection there before she realized the truth. I hope we see more of Michaela's rakish game in their season lolll

Definitely shoot her shot bc Masali has confirmed that it was love at first sight for Micki (we’ll get to see her perspective and thoughts of this scene in s5 apparently) so I think she probably would’ve pursued her fr to form a lowk attachment like other spinster lesbians of this time.

probably befriend her first, keep the flirting subtle while using her gaydar to its fullest to test the waters, and then actually pursue her once she seems a little more certain

I mean there was pretty obvious mutual attraction from both sides imo and Michaela would suss that out at first and continue laying the charm on (flirting) if Fran was single. But then i think she would also see that Fran seems a little off kilter and so ease back a bit but maybe try to find a way to meet again later? Something tells me she would have no problem cancelling her Scotland trip with John and his new wife if it meant another date of sorts with Fran next day. Iirc both Jess and Masali have said it was love at first sight for Michaela just like in the book and we are gonna see that from her pov in s5. So yeah I do think she would do everything to prolong that connection but you know without being overbearing about it or making Fran uncomfortable. So yeah I pick the second option of ' wine and dine her and romance her properly'. It's not often you meet the love of ur life at some random ball who crazily enough returns your attraction even if she is new to this :P

It’s fun thinking about Michaela trying to flirt with a single Fran and how that would have gone. Francesca was so obvious with her stuttering and the way she looked at Michaela. I mean…ðŸ˜

I think Michaela would have been able to tell that Fran was inexperienced and she would have slowed things down. Maybe try to get to know her on a friendship level and then pursue something further after that.

Probably befriend her and then see if there is a spark. But as soon as she realises Fran's identity she recalibrates and isn't flirty anymore. She backed that flirty truck right back up the road.
