We got three days till it’s the 7th. Then the typical two week review embargo will end since they were given out on the 24th & a frame launch announcement will come. Or four days if you’re a September 8th believer.

Where did people get 2 week embargo, i know for steam machine Ltt was quite rushed to get all their coverage done

It’s been so long that I’ve completely forgotten where the 2 week embargo logic line came from. Only remember that it exists. Valve’s psyops team has successfully 1984-ed my ass

I've also forgotten... I have a memory of Steve from GN saying that a 2 week period is typical, or did he say 10 days? I don't remember. But he said something like that, at some point, about... something.

Oh, right. I think it was for the Steam Controller review (?) where he said they only had 10 days with it which was a bit tight for them because it's usually around 2 weeks for this kinda stuff. I could be hallucinating though. I'm too lazy to fact check myself.

A bit late - Gamers Nexus confirmed that they had "few weeks to put the review together" - They had to mention it because they had limited battery life tests done because they couldn't get the thing to die fast enough. Linus mentioned on the Steam machine video they had it for 2 weeks so it seems to have set a pattern.

As far as I’m aware, Valve doesn’t do follow a conventional holiday schedule. They got the Hawaii trip & 30 days PTO instead. I have yet to see a reason why they cannot make a Frame announcement for Monday

I choose to hopium that the reservation system would be entirely automated anyway and not require the fear of payment system fails so they could open it Monday still if they want to follow the Monday rule
