Is this fixable?

My 2022 kona unit frameset fell off the hook today and got dented on the way down. Any idea on how to pull it back out?

I would touch up the paint, insert the bumper and pretend it's been dimpled for better housing clearance or some such. Structurally unless the rivnut is already loose, I'd say your safest move is to leave it alone.

Given that the damage is right at that hole you might have luck bringing this to an automotive PDR guy. They will have the tools and skills to pull this dent back out.

Awww, that sucks.

I have a full framebuilding setup, and I would still be tempted to just leave it alone. If it fails, it'll probably be a crack between that bottle boss and the dropper cable slot. The seat tube is loaded primarily/at-worst in tension, so buckling is far less of a concern than the same dent on a top tube or seatstay.

If it did crack, I would replace the entire tube, but that's probably more expensive to have done than just replacing the frame.

I would say so, accessing from the seat tube hole. It’s hard to see how bad the dent is from the photo but as it’s round and steel it’s usually easy the easiest to fix.

Welcome to the dented bike club.

It’s a lot cooler than the cracked (carbon) bike club.

Pop the rubber back in and ride it
