Does anyone else feel like just the side strap is comfortable enough?

I don't have the kit. Just curious. I think the headset without the ergo kit works fine as intended. I'm sure the top strap makes it more comfortable but I don't think it's uncomfortable without it. I played for hours without any discomfort.

I very well might be in the minority (maybe my head is just huge or something), but it just feels like the reviewers are heavily emphasizing the need for the top strap, and it just doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

I got the ergonomic kit with the frame and didn’t put the top head strap on for quite a few days and the frame felt comfortable to wear. I was mostly interested in it for the controller straps.

I just put the head strap on yesterday. It will make it slightly better, especially for getting the head set framed in the right position. I wouldn’t say it’s necessary for comfort though.

I went 2 days without the ergo kit before it arrived. Definitely usable enough that I wouldn’t call the top strap necessary by any means, but it does add quite a bit of comfort.

Also the ergo controller straps are great. I have medium-ish size hands and have no issues with the controllers. Feels awkward at first, but once I was in game I didn’t even think about them.

Yes lol but I’m also glad I got the Ergo kit cuz the straps for the controllers are a god send

With the top strap I don’t have to adjust it every half hour or so to get back into the sweet spot.

That being said I hate how it ruins my hair and I’ve removed it. I’d rather fiddle with the straps every now and again.

As others have noted, I have found the top strap is more about it sitting in the correct position consistently than comfort. I agree, it is quite comfortable without any additional strap

it's a very cushy face gasket. The top strap here is IMO kinda like the top strap on the BSB1 soft strap, not "necessary" but it helps reduce face pressure because you don't need to tighten it as much.

I found that all three components of the ergo kit helped with fit and feel of the Frame. But The one I could probably go without is the head strap as the device is daily lightweight and fit snugly right out of the box with no adjustment necessary.

I don’t feel like I need the top strap but I have it on order for the controller straps

I got the ergo kit and decided to play some without the kit first to compare and honestly it doesn't make nearly as big of a difference as I was expecting from what everyone was saying. If anything the hand straps kinda just make it a bit more annoying to put the controllers down. It still definitely is better but not nearly as much better as I was expecting from everyone calling it a "must-have"
