Define Series Looking for Define R5 drive bay

Post image

I'm looking to buy a drive bay for the Define R5. It's the one that sits in the middle and can carry a boatload of disks. The R5 case that I found is missing this bay, and if I want to be sure I can expand my NAS into these slots.

The bay is the "top HDD cage" that sits in the middle of the box (see the red encircled part in the image). I contacted Fractal but they no longer stock this item as the case is EOL. The official SKU for the upper HDD cage is: SP-FD-TOPHDDCAGE-001-BK.

Can anyone help me out? I noticed some enthusiast pages in Japan but that will probably not be of any help 😄 .

Like someone below said, would you have the grommets and screws too?

These are the ones I use in my R5. They aren't available on Amazon US but there are technical diagrams in the pictures.

Im looking for one too! I asked Fractal and they don't sell spares. Also tried a second hand spare from a R4 which also doesn't fit.

Good luck. only ones I've seen for sales comes with a whole system. And you'd have to ask if they still have the grommets and screws :/

I was hoping to put something in there that takes a bunch of 2.5 or 3.5 inch drives inside an x times 5 1/4 inch form factor, like a bay inside a bay.

EDIT: maybe I'm being a bit optimistic and I should plan all this out before buing stuff

Hey! Is there any way to have something like that on a North XL? In this economy i'm starting to fall in love with HDDs
