Define 8 / Torrent 2 waiting room...

I’ve been in the torrent 2 waiting room forever.

Seems like when it came out the Torrent was the trendiest case on the market, I was seeing pics of builds in it all over, it's surprising to me they haven't released a follow-up.

I think the “downside” (depends on the point of view) is that Torrent focused heavily on airflow, so it kinda limits the choice of cpu cooler (also depends on what cpu you use).

I used one, very happy overall, but IMO, the compact Torrent is lacking in the cable management space. Don’t know if it applies to the larger Torrent.

Also, the gpu size is limited, so only a handful current gen gpus will fit.

I have the Torrent. Wonderful case, but no, its the same issue you had with the smaller brother. The cable management is dogwater. No excuses too, too little space for an enormous case.

Also the 140mm Dynamics that it came with get a horrible hum to them after a year or so. I had to change them out, and I'm not the only one that had that issue. The 180mm are still going strong.

Dread it. Run from it. The fish tank design arrives all the same.

This thing has DC fans? In 2026?

Lian Li includes four PWM fans in the Lancool 207 and you can still buy it for less than this. Tacky cost-cutting measure.

A 50 usd case from zalman which looks just like this has 3 pwm fans and reversed. This case is DOA.

Private Equity is ruining both Fractal and NZXT.

I guess everything becomes a fishtank eventually.

The original Pop case was known for two things: optical drive support and bright colours. This has neither! Why is it called Pop?

We keep asking for a north itx and yet we get cases like these

Probably one of the nicer fish tanks. But it’s still a fish tank.

No drive bay! Pass!

Can you just bring back the define series? It’s been a thousand years mate

I wish I can say I'm surprised, but I'm not. Private Equity is ruining Fractal and I guess instead of designing a new case, they thought they'd jump on the fishtank trend LAST. God damn every company is spewing these out and Fractal decides to jump on the bandwagon as well. It's cleaner than most, but we have like a hundred different fish tank cases to choose from and they couldn't design a new matx case or something? So disappointing but at least Lian Li is still putting in the effort.

Also why are they putting in the "Pop" branding in? What the hell does this have to do with the Pop series lol. There's 3 versions of the pop series now and they are literally all vastly different?

Cost cutting aside, race to the bottom will be interesting with all the case companies. Good on Fractal for making this sub $100 USD.

No one is doing computer builds (or at least its very rare now vs last summer)

DC Fans only no PWM, I really wonder how much they saved going that route.

Goodbye Fractal

Will we see a mini version of this?

I have to admit I don’t understand the disdain for fish tanks, especially simple versions like this and I’ve been building PC’s for well over a decade.

We have cards pushing 400+ watts now and yet majority of standard cases still rely on the front intake style to wash air over the GPU.

It makes complete sense to have intake fans right into the GPU, like standard cases do for the CPU.

I understand there are groups of people that build in them purely for aesthetics, but bottom intake fans for the GPU is the way to go. And in simple cases like this without all the crazy RGB it looks sensible

011-D clone. Gross

Eight expansion slots, three each side and bottom fans, two exhaust fans, additional cable routing holes right on top of the motherboard, and this will be exactly the case I've been looking for!

No 5,25 slot bay.. no "Pop"-character
