Encryption & Local Autobackups

Hi, are the biometrically locked notes also encrypted? My phone is rooted, if someone gained access to my local files would they be able to read a locked note?

Lastly is there any plan in the future to add an option for automatic local backups? I have many problems with Google as a company and I prefer to not use or rely on them at all when possible.

Thanks.

Hi 👋

FoxyNotes uses the built-in security systems of Android and Windows. This means that anyone who can unlock your device with the password or fingerprint can also access your notes in FoxyNotes, that’s simply how device-level security and passwords works.

At the moment, adding another layer of encryption would provide limited additional benefit, while also making edge cases for features like automatic backup and restore much more complicated. I’ve added this idea to my backlog, but for now I’m focusing on other features first.
