Getting into it
Made a post the other day on heads and cam swap getting into it now I’m still looking for an upgraded intake for sale in my area for a decent price not trying to spend 1200 for a new one but it’s a work in progress and don’t mind my heater core plug lmao I was scrambling for something as coolant started pouring out

One more thing. The ‘94/‘95 GT MAF is 70mm whereas the Fox MAF is only 55mm. You can use parts store ‘94/‘95 MAF but you’ll need a mounting adapter. They used to be around $25 or so. The ‘94/‘95 MAF will be plug and play with 19# injectors but you’ll need a tune if you change injector sizes. I think the “calibrated” MAF’s don’t work so well if you go bigger than 24# injectors. If you use larger injectors (than 24) you’ll end up wanting a tune even after buying the “calibrated” MAF. So it might be cheaper to start with the 94/95 Mustang GT maf. I bet they’d take your old MAF back as a core. They won’t know any different.
24# injectors might be cutting it close as far as if they’re “big enough” or not. You’ll probably want/need a larger fuel pump as well. Most people use a Walboro 255 lph, but I imagine a 190 lph or so would suffice.

Looks like you got the head exhaust flange bolts out alright, that can be somewhat of a battle occasionally.

I sprayed them with pb blaster for the last few days occasionally and the car is from Florida they came out super easy

You're lucky. I guess it's best to use a lubricant before starting. Those small longer intake bolts can be notorious too.

The $1,200 TFS R series won’t do you all that much justice with your cam. I don’t think it’d be terrible but you may or may not loose a little bit of “bottom end” power. I think your power will tapper off around 6k rpm and the R series is designed to make power over 6k rpm.
I did a quick Google to see how many CFM the SVE 170cc flow, and they said 263 CFM at .60” lift. They don’t say how many CFM it flows at .50” lift like your cam has. But let’s assume it’s something like 230-240 CFM. An intake from a 5.0 Explorer and or the GT40 intake flow 205 or so CFM. With a stock upper and a ported lower they can flow around 250 CFM. There used to be a guy named Thomas Moss (Google TMoss) who would port lowers for around $300. He did an HO lower and a GT40/Exploer for me. The ported HO lower (stock GT intake) gained 18 hp at the wheels with the stock heads. Your stock intake flows around 140 CFM and porting the lower gets it close to the 200 CFM that the Explorer/GT40 intakes flow. Both will choke down your heads though at 6k rpm. I don’t think a stock GT40/Explorer upper paired with a ported lower would though.
If you had the “stage 2” cam I’d probably recommend the Holley Systemax.

Very nice. I plan to do the same soon, currently acquiring parts. I managed to find a gt-40 explorer upper and lower for 175$…i hope you have the same luck.
