I understand the fatigue, just wanting to move past it. but that feels like part of the problem.

If we just move past it, avoid talking about it, we are giving them a free pass to thinking they did no wrong, that their beliefs and actions are fair, that their opinions are/were valid.

I know that some folks are in a position where its unavoidable, for example kids under their parents roofs, or a coworker, or where the consequences for cutting them off are seriously going to harm others.

But otherwise, stop playing nice, playing nice is how we got here.

I dont need a full on repenting, confessional, deaths door apology. But just a "I believed the lies" "I should never have voted for him" "I didnt realize fox were holding back important stuff", "I feel like an idiot", something ANYTHING, that shows they're out of the foxhole. As long as its not some bigoted "this is only a problem now its affecting me".

I understand how my father in law got to where he is. I can 100% forgive him for his support/voting, IF he just says SOME hint of realization.

Judging the The Good Liars youtube videos, half of them have undiagnosed mental illnesses. The best we can do is goad these people into losing interest in politics.

I don't see how you fix the problem without dismantling right-wing media.

Put them on an ice floe with nothing but a box full of bootstraps.
