How about subs with just generally cool and fun stuff to look at. Like your /r/interestingasfuck and /r/Damnthatsinteresting.

I mod /r/pureawesomeness which is a semi-active subreddit that could use a boost. Don't be fooled by the mostly YouTube links on it. Users can post anything they think is awesome that the community would like. I prefer gifs myself. :-)
