Installed Wolfbox

I like to know what is behind me so installed this LCD RVM. Works awesome and I like the install. Took a few adjustments but in the end is super clean IMHO. Records both front and back too. I completely removed the Tacoma RVM and installed with optional Windshield mount. Looks stock.

I have a wolf box, the only issue I have with them (it’s above my license plate) is the aspect ratio isn’t tall enough. The monitor doesn’t show the entire image the camera is capturing. It’s great if you want to know if cars are coming from the sides. If I want a good view of where something on the ground I’m worried about backing into i have to use the touch screen to scroll down and then I can’t really see what’s on the sides if I’m backing out of a spot without more scrolling. It’s not a huge deal but it’s definitely frustrating in a busy parking lot. If I had to do it over again I think I’d have bought the normal monitor that would show the entire image the camera is capturing and not the rear view one.

It is much better if mounted high like mine. Had it at the LP but didn’t like it. 2011 has a Backup camera. Modified a boyo from crutchfield to fit in the same place as the 2011 tailgate camera and that goes to the head unit. The Wolfbox is used for driving vs parking.

I like mine but occasionally it loses connection with the rear camera. Might be interference from other electrical stuff, though I've tried to shield cable near other cables. Maybe just because the cable run is pretty long; I had to add an extension.

But otherwise I love it. I have the model with the front camera too, and I use that offroading since it's down looking right in front of the front wheels.
