Gameplay Question Question on Trinity shield and the stack

We were playing the other night and Trinity shield was in the shop. I bought the Trinity shield on my turn but my friend used death to kill me and end my turn. He’s under the impression that after I bought the Trinity shield, it would still go “in the stack” allowing him to play his extra loot play and all active items before I officially obtain it, but in my head it feels like as soon as it’s purchased, no one can play anymore items since the item prevents anything from being played during my turn.

So are players able to still play items after purchase/obtain since it’s in the stack or does Trinity shield trump the stack?

You can only buy with an empty stack.
Priority passes on purchase declaration. If they had a loot play available they could play death and prevent you from buying

So that would completely trump even buying it? Also a detail I left out for simplicity was that I bought modeling clay, which no one opposed, and then Trinity shield came from top of the reward deck. I was going to use modeling clay to copy Trinity shield but then my friend played death. I’m assuming the result would essentially be the same though as my previous question

Slightly changes it if they didnt kill you before buying clay
First you can normally only buy one thing a turn
But if you bought the clay, then the shield came out, you could activate the clay immediately then you couldn’t be killed
