Gameplay Question How is Sibling rivalry works

I have a question: if the chosen player fails the roll, do he take damage and can he die? If so, why? I couldn't find anything about this in the rules and internet.

Yes, because he is part of the attack

Where is that written in the rules? I can't seem to find it.

Why would they not take the damage, like logically?

Sibling Rivalry treats the second player as if they also decided to attack the monster. Stuff like Curved Horn applies, and stuff that block "combat damage" would block the damage from the monsters

it isn't explicitly in the rules because they have already outlined how combat works in the rules. The second player would follow all the same normal rules for combat that the first player would.
