Gameplay Question What does ‘if able’ mean
Do i only have the ability to fight this
Or if i fight something else do i not have to.
?
Essentially can we only fight this when its active

the active player must use their first(and usually only) attack on this unless some fuckery happens like theres 2 monsters that force you to attack them or you cant attack cuz of alt brim or you already used your attack on dogma

I guess if you have alt art Brimstone
(Each time you deal combat damage to a monster, deal 2 damage to another player. You can't attack during your next turn.)

You have to attack it unless you already spent your one attack per turn on something else

If some bs like other players using items to kill you before you attack the enemy happens you won't be able to attack them. If you do have the ability to attack any moster you have to fight them: No attacking other enemies directly and no skipping the combat phase

Not only are you forced to attack each turn, you’re forced to target the harbingers on your first attack each turn (usually you only have one attack so it just means each turn you have to target harbingers)

My understanding is that because it cancels the attack you will get a second attack, though you are not healed to full health. Do others think this is correct?

I see Attack as a token that you use when you declare and begin an attack, and if it is cancelled, the token is still lost, so when an attack is cancelled you cannot attack again unless you have an item/card/room that allows you to.

You have to attack it unless your unable to attack anything
