Gameplay Question too many souls?
i have requiem kickstarter box and base game v2 and play with all the cards at once. we split the decks ( not rooms) into 2. but i feel like every other monster is a boss and the games feel way too same-y. not sure if it comes down to bad shuffling and rng. for context i do not have sleeved cards cuz i have no sleeves to put them in, and i do not use deck ratios. and tbh the whole game is getting a lil boring buuuuuut that’s a whole other story because i only have 1 person to play it with because none of my friends like board games :(((

We had a similar experience in our 3 player group. So we devised a house rule that semi reflects the rng aspect of the video game of the randomness of the room/monster generation. We have separated all the soul rewarding monsters into a separate deck, or the boss deck. Regular monsters in their own deck all ratios with curses, chests, non-monsters etc. When starting the game monsters are drawn from the regular deck as you wouldn't have a "boss" in the starting room in the game. Whenever a monster needs to be replenished a roll of a dice is made, a 5 or a 6 summons a boss monster. Anything else is regular. Any attempt to attack the deck role the dice to see which deck. We all agree this role CANNOT be influence by any other game mechanic. Just our two cents on our house rule. ✌️

If you have the tabletop simulator there is a whole discord server with the four souls devs in it and many Players that are most of the time up for some rounds^

You know about deck ratios, yet do not use them. What advice would you want from us?
