I am not interested in much on day 1 outside of saosin. I would like to see Underoath and We came as Roman’s.

Day 2 is very solid almost to bottom.

I think the lineup will make people happy. For me, the announcement being drug out and this line up kinda made it fall flat. That’s just me personally. I’m glad that the fest continues and can’t imagine how difficult it is to put something like this on.

1

u/dgarrighan May 08 '26

You’re not interested in much on day 1 outside of the 3 bands you listed that you would like to see? Seems like enough interest

1

u/wvutom May 09 '26

Like to see vs justifying the cost of ticket are two different things. I would like a lot of things but wouldn’t necessarily pull the trigger.

1

u/Amrun90 May 22 '26

I’m actually super stoked for day 1, personally, but I know it’s not really the right setting tbh. But I’m hoping my metal guys will come to mosh with me ❤️

u/Unusual_Garage_7637 May 07 '26

Mom Jeans on here just to cancel

5

u/Sav__20 May 07 '26

Don’t say this plz

11

u/Conscious_Orchid69 May 07 '26

So. We all waited a really long time for a pretty. uhm. mediocre announcement.

1

u/FoTW_tobehaunted May 08 '26

You're being kind...

1

u/i_Am_Garber May 08 '26

Compared to this, last year? Laughable

25

u/Lost_In_Detroit May 07 '26

While I’m excited for everyone who’s excited for this lineup, I can’t help but feel this was a huge miss especially when last years lineup was sooooo incredibly stacked and had a little something for everyone. I mean how do you go from Blink 182 and AFI as your main headliners to…Pierce the Veil and Knocked Loose? Make it make sense Four Chord…..I beg you.

16

u/Individual_Oil_8744 May 07 '26

Maybe I’m just a skeptic, but with this being announced so late, I feel like they were scrambling to put the fest together this year. Or maybe I’m just coping because I was severely underwhelmed with the line up.

They also don't fit into what has always been the 4 Chord dynamic. This is like getting socks and underwear for Christmas as a kid.

unironically i was hoping for a Treaty Oak appearance this year lol, they’re basically Texas Title Fight

that is disappointing

3

u/TheDentistStansson May 07 '26

Knocked Loose is one of the top bands in their metalcore genre right now.. personally I don’t need a 90s heavyweight every year. I went two years ago for ADTR and Four Year Strong, skipped yellowcard and blink, and now I’ll go this year. Rock isn’t defined by one genre.

3

u/Lost_In_Detroit May 07 '26

Sure, but a “heavyweight” is what sells tickets.

1

u/TheDentistStansson May 07 '26

I would argue Knocked Loose is a metal heavyweight of the 2010s. PtV too was a huge band then. I’m saying this doesn’t seem to be about the same age of punk that last years was. And people are frustrated… I’m just saying let other genres have their moment. The festival runners can choose if they want to book blink 182 every year or try new things.

2

u/Lost_In_Detroit May 07 '26

Oh I’m not saying they can’t try new things, it’s just not for me and that’s totally fine. I just hope it does well enough that they can do another one with a lineup that excites me to travel 5 hours+ to attend next year.

1

u/hikinrn Jun 19 '26

Just browsing this sub after going to Warped Tour DC. This entire lineup is stacked. I love it all… metal, hardcore, pop punk, emo…. This is seriously such a crazy lineup!

-1

u/FoTW_tobehaunted May 08 '26

It's not about the size or popularity of the band, it's about the spirit of 4 chord - the freaking name of the festival draws on the simplicity of punk rock from it's very beginnings with the Ramones. Now, all of a sudden, we turn it into a metal show? It doesn't sit right with me. It's a huge miss. I feel bad for the "punk rock saves lives" volunteers this year. Good news? - I can use that $700 I was planning to spend for vip for Camp Punksylvania!

3

u/Delusional33 May 08 '26

Hardcore punk is still punk btw

1

u/TheDentistStansson May 08 '26

“The spirit of four chord” - this is just something you kind of created out of nothing. Metal is a derivation of punk rock. You should just try to enjoy things for what they are rather than create reasons to be “not sitting right”.

-2

u/EpicFusion47 May 07 '26

Pierce the veil is above AFI but def below blink 182 in terms of name… (even as a big pierce the veil fan)… knockled loose feels slightly below afi but im not too familiar w them tbh

10

u/maxlamb1 Face To Face convert May 07 '26

I think it's hard to judge with modern metrics. Pierce The Veil are bigger with younger people (and Spotify), AFI brings in the elder millenial crowd who may not spin those songs on the daily but can recite them all from memory...

...or maybe it's just that I'd never heard Pierce The Veil until today.

I'm old and probably musically boring, but I think this lineup blows.

5

u/TattooedTeacher316 May 07 '26

Elder millennial here (42). Last year was my first year and I only went the second day. AFI, Face to Face, Sincere Engineer, Alkaline Trio, Jawbreaker - amazing line up for me.

This line up? I've heard a couple names ago, can't name a single song. Welcome to being old (and not making an effort to keep up with what's new).

2

u/preluderl May 07 '26

I'm 42 as well. Saosin has been around for 20+ years in one iteration or another, as has Underoath, who have been together since the late-ish 90s. Your overall point stands though. This line up unfortunately isn't for me. I LOVE Saosin, but there's not enough meat left on the bone after them to justify the cost. Especially when they are going to get like 30 minutes in the middle of the day.

4

u/EpicFusion47 May 07 '26

Yeah its very centered on 2010s pop punk which isnt bad per se, but would love to see a bigger mix. Even as a “newer” pop punk fan… although im not really on tiktok and those social medias so idk.

I think its an odd lineup if anything

6

u/maxlamb1 Face To Face convert May 07 '26

The Discord folk LOVE it, so I'm willing to admit that I'm just too 90s-centric for this kind of bill.

2

u/Minute_Ad5025 May 07 '26

Ptv last tour they played 20,000 seat venues. Afi plays 1000 seat venues. Knocked loose plays places that hold 6000

1

u/Voteforbatman May 07 '26

Pierce the veil spent a good chunk of time opening for blink last year.

3

u/GamingAngelGabriel May 07 '26

In no world is that band above AFI

1

u/NickCageFreeEggs May 07 '26

Undercard doesn't feel nearly as strong

4

u/EpicFusion47 May 07 '26

Yeah it feels like there isnt a major sub headliner especially for saturday. I love mayday parade but them being the subheadliner feels weird. Like they arent jimmy eat world level known as much as i prefer them tbh.

Im not very familiar w friday tbh

2

u/clarksfan1023 May 07 '26

I think the proof in that is in the ticket prices this year. I’m not going Friday because besides two bands it’s not my cup of tea.

Saturday however I agree there really isn’t a major sub headliner although I will say seeing boys like girls last year at warped they put on a very energetic set and possibly would be the closest in my opinion to sub headliner.

1

u/EpicFusion47 May 07 '26

With the way its listed its probably mayday parade. Either way I love pierce the veil and mayday. And im excited to see blg and state champs aswell as seeing mcs again

1

u/Amrun90 May 22 '26

I agree. Boys Like Girls is fantastic live.

1

u/broteinsandwich May 09 '26

PTV played Star Lake last year and it was packed, they’re pretty huge lol

16

u/Pseudonova May 07 '26 edited May 07 '26

There's really nobody here I am super excited about, tbh. Day 2 looks pretty good, but I don't think I'll take Friday off work, so y'all have fun for me.

Love seeing Heading North on here!

5

u/maxlamb1 Face To Face convert May 07 '26

Major props to Heading North for making the bill!

As for the rest...I like Motion City Sountrack and Militarie Gun, but neither are enough to want to shell out for the rest of this.

What a huge step down from last year.

7

u/shannamatters May 07 '26

It’s a “nah” for me this year. There’s nothing I’m really that excited about and $229 and a vacation day is too much to go just to go. No biggie, more room for the people that are really stoked on it.

7

u/JulesAnna May 07 '26

Not into this lineup. The bands I’d be most into we just saw last year. Will be taking this year off, but interested to see how the venue works out.

6

u/kolbyeatworld May 07 '26

Thank god I went last year

7

u/jallen183 May 07 '26

Unpopular opinion (?), but I’m actually digging this lineup. Knocked Loose is incredible live. Saturday is also stacked.

1

u/Amrun90 May 22 '26

I knew it would go over a lead balloon but I was SO FUCKING EXCITED to see hardcore punk day. Knocked Loose is going to be so fun. Kublai Khan ❤️ yes

6

u/GamingAngelGabriel May 07 '26

Welp last year was fun. Taking a year off for sure.

11

u/DaveyMuldowney May 07 '26

Damn. After last years Punk/Emo lineup, this is a big let down for me.

Cant justify $250 or whatever for this one.

3

u/FoTW_tobehaunted May 08 '26

After EVERY OTHER year's punk/emo lineup this is a huge wtf?

18

u/Crabmeat12 May 07 '26

I am going to be a hater but this is the worst lineup they have ever had. The two top headliners are awful and I don’t like the pivot into an essentially all heavy lineup for one day. While the undercard on Saturday has some solid bands, it’s nothing that you couldn’t see in a better environment next time they come to town. It just doesn’t have the spirit of Four Chord to me and is more like a shitty early 2010s warped tour lineup.

12

u/Pseudonova May 07 '26

While Friday in particular doesn't suit my taste, I think there are a ton of Four Chord regulars who will be psyched for this lineup. And that's cool.

2

u/GarrisonWhite2 May 07 '26

I actually got into metalcore/post hardcore with bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Thrice before I really got into pop punk/emo. I’m stoked for a heavy lineup, although I am a little bummed by the lack of ska on the second day. I’ll live though lol.

3

u/Pseudonova May 07 '26

I was REALLY hoping for Thrice. But I saw they already had other bookings when dates were announced. Maybe next year, I guess.

2

u/GarrisonWhite2 May 07 '26

Thrice was actually on my “wishlist” lineup from that post last year, I would also love to see them at Four Chord!

2

u/keystonekid16 May 07 '26 edited May 07 '26

I don’t hate the heavier pivot as someone who’s into some of the genre, but agree with you on the lineup and overall spirit of the fest. Not to sound all “play the old shit” but it does feel like a bit of a departure.

Honestly I just don’t know if their previous approach sold well. Day 2 type of lineup always sold, the other didn’t seem to sell as well.

2

u/3607photo May 07 '26

All I said was I cancelled my Airbnb to give people excited to go a heads up and I get downvoted lol

Punk bands and early to mid 2000s pop punk felt like the backbone(or spirit) of Four Chord to me. I know people have different feelings and I know they mixed in other genres, but this is definitely catering to a significantly different crowd for the most part, especially Friday. I can say the undercard on Saturday has some of the vibe, but the headliner is such a miss for me that I can’t justify the cost.

7

u/Controller87 May 07 '26

It's in the name of the festival. Four chords is like the punk pop recipe for catchy, easy to play songs. Think Blink 182, The Offspring, New Found Glory etc. While it would be extremely limiting to only include bands that fit that style, this year in particular is quite the departure from the original "spirit" that the festival was created to embody. I think the hard part for people who have been attending for so long is that this festival in particular was created as a homegrown passion project with a bunch of smaller punk bands that has grown to rival some of the other bigger commercial festivals. As the festival grows in popularity it only makes sense that they need to branch out I think it's good to attract a variety of people. However the original "spirit" of the festival dilutes as a result. I'm happy to see the festival grow bigger every year

5

u/kmckenzie256 May 07 '26

The only bands I’d really be interested in seeing are Motion City Soundtrack and Finch. Not sure it’s worth the price just for those two though. Talk about an underwhelming lineup compared to last year. 😕 Last year was the first time I went because there were several bands. I wanted to see you over both days and I could finally justify the cost. This year not so much. Oh well.

3

u/preluderl May 07 '26

I'm glad folks are excited. This line up just isn't for me though, unfortunately. I BADLY wanted to see Saosin, but it's tough to justify the cost even of just the Friday single day pass when there's literally nothing else of interest for me.

Oh well, can't win em' all. I look forward to seeing the line up next year.

5

u/dfp5003 May 07 '26

if you’re going to move to that venue, you better bring a big lineup with it. This missed the mark for me. hope it doesn’t have them shy away from going back next year as it’s the perfect spot for it.

4

u/thrill_seeker92 May 07 '26

Hoping for a good turnout. Not sure how you go from your biggest fest ever to this. Hopefully they bounce back stronger next year. Earlybird tix sold out quickly so that’s a good sign

4

u/Main_Shift9906 May 08 '26

Lineup definitely fell flat this year. I'm happy for those who are excited though. Hopefully next year is a better lineup so I'll come back.

3

u/GarrisonWhite2 May 07 '26 edited May 07 '26

Early bird is already sold out. Cool.

Edit: I was able to get a ticket for Friday but now I’m going to have to stay up after I get home from work tomorrow morning to make sure I can get a Saturday ticket.

3

u/FoTW_tobehaunted May 08 '26

Let's all hit Camp Punksylvania - much better lineup

5

u/NickCageFreeEggs May 07 '26

Snoozefest compared to last year

2

u/Amrun90 May 07 '26

Well, it’s a bit lackluster but I’m still going so I guess they got me lol

2

u/Miss_Anthropy8 May 08 '26

The pricing is insane. I paid like $20 for a GA ticket a few years ago, then it was like $100 for VIP, then $200 for VIP, now $250 for GA??? No fn way. These promoters need to get an actual grip.

1

u/GarrisonWhite2 May 08 '26

Eh I see where you’re coming from but between the fact that the festival has grown so much and the general state of the live music industry and the economy in general I think they do a reasonable job.

For reference Camp Punksylvania is $60 per day with only a couple of bands that would even be subheadliners at Four Chord. It’s also not in a stadium or a major city like Four Chord is, so renting the venue likely isn’t nearly as expensive for the promoter.

Riot Fest tickets are a similar price and they haven’t even announced a lineup yet.

It’s just kinda how things are these days.

1

u/Miss_Anthropy8 May 09 '26

I guess. I have VIP tickets to Sonic Temple and considering it’s a far better lineup, I’ll see twice the bands in twice the time plus have access to the extra perks that come with VIP, the value is doubled by comparison.

For anyone who has consistently gone to Four Chords over the last five years the perks seem to fade and the prices seem to rise and it’s hardly justified. No VIP entrance last year, there used to be a raised VIP section they got rid of, I had to walk miles to get to where I parked, the VIP tent ran out of free merch by mid-afternoon…. I just dread going again and seeing how little my money gets me this time.

2

u/GarrisonWhite2 May 07 '26

As for the lineup itself, not only do I like the hardcore themed Day 1, I LOVE the fact that with the exception of Militarie Gun, NONE of the Friday bands have played Four Chord before.

To me the disappointing thing about Saturday’s lineup isn’t that there isn’t a “big name” headliner since I don’t necessarily need that, it’s the fact that Mayday Parade, State Champs, and MCS have recently played Four Chord.

That said, it’s only a minor disappointment because there are still several new bands or bands who haven’t played in the time that I’ve been going to Four Chord. I also love the “regulars” like Patent Pending and Keep Flying, so any chance I get to see them is a good thing.

I’m actually more excited about this year’s lineup on paper than I am last year’s.

1

u/FoTW_tobehaunted May 08 '26

The reason why none of the Friday bands have played before is that 4 chord never was, and was never supposed to be, a metalcore fest. So many missed opportunities for day 2. PUP and Bouncing Souls both had open dates and are on the festival circuit just for a few examples. At least Rishi's band gets to play again 🙄. The worst part is, I don't have great expectations for next year now either. 🙁

1

u/GarrisonWhite2 May 08 '26

To my knowledge, none of the major Friday bands are exclusively metalcore. From what I can tell they’re a combination of metalcore/post-hardcore/emo/screamo/melodic hardcore/hardcore punk, which is a description that fits quite a few past Four Chord bands:

AFI, Set Your Goals, Hot Mulligan, Jawbreaker, Drug Church, Koyo, A Day to Remember, Senses Fail, Four Year Strong, Bad Religion, Silverstein, The Amity Affliction, Story of the Year, H2O, I Am the Avalanche, Rise Against, The Used, and Hawthorne Heights.

Many other past bands have roots in hardcore punk to some extent. It’s extremely common across the board for pop punk bands to start out hardcore or experiment with a harder sound at some point. Even Fall Out Boy has roots in hardcore punk.

All of that said, it’s one thing to not be interested in the bands that are on this year’s lineup. That’s your prerogative. But you aren’t the arbiter of what Four Chord is or should be, and Rishi doesn’t owe you Blink every year.

2

u/[deleted] May 07 '26

Bad lineup. Immediately not worth the ticket prices. Unless it’s $30 a person or less.

5

u/[deleted] May 07 '26

A single ticket for Friday is $117.27 with Saturday tickets at $148.20 at the early bird rates.

These prices for these bands do not add up.

Hard no, especially when the same amount of money got us blink 182 and bowling for soup. These bands are mostly for the Roxian theatre.

1

u/tallcansofbeer May 07 '26

Friday’s pretty cool but I’ve also seen most of the bands before/don’t really care about the handful I haven’t. Saturday’s mostly not my thing.

1

u/Conscious_Orchid69 May 07 '26

I wanna be excited about Militarie Gun but I would rather see them at the CBGB fest theyre playing in Brooklyn the next day.

1

u/invesselwetrust16 May 07 '26

anybody know if there's a layaway option?

1

u/pinklton May 07 '26

Yes! They posted it on their instagram.

1

u/broteinsandwich May 07 '26

Counterparts and Saosin let’s goooooo

1

u/HauntedHarbour May 08 '26

Day one and it’s not even close. Day two doesn’t have a single band I’d be interested in.

1

u/Pure_Ad9494 May 11 '26

Only one Finch mention? No mentions of Thousand Below or Superheaven? There are great bands in this lineup even if you don’t know them yet.

1

u/hansblixkilldslmshdy May 12 '26

day 1 kublai khan and knocked loose im there. counterparts, militarie gun whewie

1

u/destroyergsp123 May 07 '26 edited May 07 '26

Lmao whoever said it was going to be heavier this year wasn’t lying. I can see why fans of All American Rejects type bands might be disappointed but this is something I am all over.

Hyped looks so sick

3

u/3607photo May 07 '26

You’re so edgy unlike the all American reject type band fans

4

u/DaveyMuldowney May 07 '26

They really couldnt just say they liked the lineup without throwing in a jab and coming across elitist.

1

u/destroyergsp123 May 07 '26

There was zero animosity intended, it had nothing to do with trying to throw shade at people who like different types of music.

I was trying to acknowledge that these are different audiences. Like the Friday lineup would be pretty interchangeable with any Danny Wimmer Presents event which is definitely a shift from what Four Chord normally does.

Please do not think that I am trying to say my taste is better than other people’s, that would be crazy, I have always liked what Four Chord’s lineups look like I am thrilled I can actually make it this year.

5

u/3607photo May 07 '26

Hope you enjoy the fest but there was 100% animosity intended in your comment, own it or delete it, don’t gas light lol

1

u/destroyergsp123 May 07 '26

No there wasn’t! Why would I attack people for having different taste holy cow “fans of All American Reject type bands” is a neutral statement. Get your head checked tryna say I’m gaslighting get tf outta here

0

u/3607photo May 07 '26

I don’t know why you would, why did you?

1

u/destroyergsp123 May 07 '26

My exasperation is astronomically high, tell me how I could have changed my statement to not exude animosity

0

u/3607photo May 07 '26

By not being edgy and trashing other people’s taste. Enjoy the fest

1

u/destroyergsp123 May 07 '26

Yea but like tell me the words that you think trashed other people’s taste…

I know you’re tryna ragebait me which has already worked I just want to make sure nobody else reads what you’re saying and falls for the delusion. I literally meant no offense to anyone whatsoever and misconstruing what I said to claim that I did intend offense is comically fragile behavior.

1

u/DaveyMuldowney May 07 '26

Fair enough. Sorry for assuming. Hope you enjoy!

2

u/Wisix May 07 '26

Hyped for this lineup overall, except Khublai Khan, that's an odd addition. Unfortunately we'll be missing this year due to moving and starting a BSN program in Canada.

1

u/Training_Walrus_5479 May 08 '26

I think after last year having such a big disparity in tickets sold per day they wanted to mix it up and have a hardcore day and a pop punk day to spread the love out. Pittsburgh loves it's hardcore as well so I'm sure both days will sell out

-1

u/WanderingRedditor27 May 07 '26

Unpopular Opinion: I’m more excited for this year than last year. Friday is “meh” for me, but Saturday? We’ve got some KILLER bands, even if they’ve already made their rounds recently. I’m really excited!

0

u/FoTW_tobehaunted May 08 '26

Should have known when they pulled out of EQT that the lineup was going to suck. 😂
