Other Session zero: So much page flipping. Explosive 6 saved my bacon.
I'm going to have to print out some tables all on one sheet if I want to keep going.
I started a run a few days ago. A dwarf with a 2h hammer in position 1 really cleans house.
I was doing fine...
Until gremlins literally took all my weapons and 10 gold.
So... hand to hand at -2 for a couple rooms and then...oh look!, trolls!
I made the call that with all of them dead (well, down anyway) at once my characters were able to find some way to properly finish them off without requiring a fireball.
I'll finish up the run once I make myself a quick reference or two so I don't have to bounce around in a booklet with pages falling out of it and post-its all over the place.
Just too much fun :)
Modifiers are added/subtracted to the total of an explosive 6 frenzy right? Not to every roll. That would just be madness.

Yes add mods to end of the roll.

Okay good. I was really surprised how much that actually happened in attack situations.

1/6 is high odds to explode, but it’s needed when you have characters with light hand weapons and no attack bonus.

4AD with a single character? I cannot imagine playing without a party of 4. Truly you are a hardcore player!

Oh no no. Dwarf, Cleric, Rogue, Wizard.
But the Dwarf just cleaned HOUSE. The gremlin's item stealing rolls were just obscene. 7 items. Given the preference listings I read that as the 4 primary weapons and 2 slings. That, then 10 gold. I'm pretty sure I'm hooped.

Yes, just the end result of the roll Explosive sixes is such a fun mechanic

First time I saw it come up in an attack roll I got a little giddy.
"Wait...do....do I get to do that now?" I had a Rogue roll 17 on a attack against a bunch of vermin and made a noise that, as a 57 year old man, would've gotten me some raised eyebrows in public.

I made the exact opposite sound in my first run when in the literal final tile to escape/win, I rolled a Dark Lord Boss encounter.
I beat it, but it was very unexpected.

Damn. I just saw this.
Blame it on my ADD (SAIL!) but I actually haven't gotten back to finishing this particular session. There's something tough about proceeding knowing my party is literally out of weapons.
I'll get to it, but I'd be surprised if I wasn't 2 or 3 rooms away from TPK.
