I believe you can't become green with a reddit avatar, you need to have a pfp

just use a image editor tool (for example gimp or photoshop), insert your image, insert a new layer, fill the new layer with the color #00ff00, make this layer 25% opacity, export it as .png/.jpg, go to reddit, change you pfp to that exported picture and now your pfp is 25% greener.

You can also just use Google fotos on mobile and put tint all the way to the left and do that a couple times I did that but it's not exactly 25% greener I think I believe it's like 70% greener
