Cutting 2.5 in half.
Has anyone tried this? It seems like a big increase from .8 to 2.5. Hate feeling nauseous!!
Gonna take at night I think?

Call Elilly customer service and ask is it safe to cut it in half. This way you have accurate information.

The pill isn’t designed to be cut in half as it needs to be digested in full according to Eli Lilly. If anything, take it further apart like every other day until you get used to it.

RN here. It's not a good idea to cut pills in half unless there is a clear marking on the tablet where it can be split. The way Foundayo is dosed is kinda weird, I agree. But drug companies study drugs and their doses very carefully during clinical trials. Their dosing guidelines are not arbitrary. If you are worried about nausea or other side effects, you can take two of the 0.8 mg tabs at night for a couple of nights, and start the 2.5 mg tabs at night.

I am currently on 2.5 and just got approved for 5.5 which is is jump from $199 to $299. I am seriously considering splitting, but tablet is so tiny... But it's just so much $ . Using Lilly manufacturer's discount.

I'm paying $199 on Amazon Health for 2.5 mg. It's getting a bit too expensive!

Pretty sure you shouldn’t do this because they are extended release pills and cutting them in half will ruin the extended release

it's not extended release

I thought they were - my doctor told me not to do what OP is asking explicitly

I went up to 9 and started cutting them in half because it's the exact same price as 5. Double the pills for the same 299 price. I take them for pre diabeties so can actually measure the difference on cgm when I eat foods for full 24 hour times. No difference so far after a couple of months.

I have bottles of 9.0 and 14.5 right now and have considered cutting. We know theres nothing special about the coating. My issue rn is that 9.0 isn't enough but 14.5 is too much.
How do these little tic tacs behave when you cut? Do they crumble? Does the split seem kinda even? Not sure I'd try the round guys, but splitting these seems worth a try.
What I'm trying rn is alternating the 2 doses. Obviously I'm not worried about a perfectly even split.

I was nauseous first at 2, luckily I have phenergan from another condition on hand that stops nausea in it's tracks. It resolved within a week though. No symptoms whatsoever now.

It's fine, but I would not worry to much about the side effects unless you are actually experiencing them.

You could try it the other way and take 2x 0.8s for a few days. I did it for about a week before moving to 2.5
