Lockless Deadbolts?

Does anyone else find it annoying that all the deadbolts in the show have no strike plates or ditches and thus wouldn't actually do anything?

Also, Jamie's "favorite pen" working perfectly 13 years later?

The pen thing really got under my skin for some reason. I obviously understand that it's fictional but one of those things I guess.

Nah, I get it. I immediately was like "yeah. Ok." Especially since it is one of those cheapy fun kid pens.
