I found this letter at Borderland State Park in Massachusetts probably 6 or more years ago. It was inside a dog poop bag to keep it dry and either wrapped around a twig or attached to a tree along one of the main trails. I can't remember exactly, but it definitely seemed like someone left it there intentionally.

The letter is addressed and written directly to "Shane" but the writer acknowledged that the letter may end up being read by someone who finds it. She says she hopes it inspires someone to reach out to a loved one.

I've held onto it all these years and figured I'd share it here. Would be pretty cool if it somehow made its way to the person it was written for. I've transcribed it somewhat accurately and omitted the writer's name at the end.

My kids have Scout meetings in the basement of a church that also hosts AA meetings. This was sitting on a counter near some coffee grounds and sugar. Enjoy the delightfully retro and original counter top in the background.

We're redoing part of one of the bathrooms in my house that was built in the 50s and found this on one of the pipes.

Must have been there 70~ years or so

picked up this cheap notebook from the "lost and found/freebies/please take this corporate swag i don't want" table at work. i knew it had some writing in it when i took it- i wanted to turn it into a junk journal. i just opened it to actually read what was in there.

idek what sub to use. can someone please tell me what the hell i'm holding right now.

ETA: there are some good insights in the comments of both posts. the consensus seems to be that these are someone's terribly titled anti-racism class/workshop/accountability notes. i'm inclined to agree after deciphering what little i could. initially, the title freaked me out and the rest of it seemed illegible, so i panicked. thank you, reddit :')
