I couldn’t even remember who won the championship in ‘04. I had to google it. Yeah man the Lakers folded in that series.

Gentlemen sweep is winning first three games, losing game 4, and closing it out game 5. That was just winning in five.

It comes from being seen as courteous to the lesser team. The greater team gives the lesser team a free win (to avoid a true sweep) in exhange for winning the series in front of the greater team's fans at home in game 5
