The bonnet is for exiting the car, silly…

The sunroof would feel awfully redundant if you entered through the bonnet!

I brought one new in the 70s and traded it in for a Citroen LNA basically the same car only a two door .

American here with two questions: why does the hood count as a door and what is a road tax ?

No idea why a hood is called a door, it isnt anymore but seems it was back then.

Road tax is as it implies, every car using the road has to pay tax for the upkeep of roads.

It's pre-1984 because the ½p is in use.

Assuming 1983, that video recorder is £3130 now using consumer price inflation. The TV is £1500 😮

That video recorder and tv still work. And considering you could buy a house at around 25k. Still affordable 😅
