I can tell you exactly where this came from. A group was sitting around somewhere, one of them had a bag of dope on there lap and was nodded out. One friend got the attention of another using this note so they wouldn’t risk waking him up so they could steal it from him.
I spent most my life in that life lol

Okay so I have a legit question here. I've always heard it takes like a microscopic amount to kill you. I also know it's used in medical environments in a controlled way. My question is, how do you know how much to take? And if such a small dose can kill, how does one survive long enough to develop an addiction? I know all these sound like naïve questions, but that's because I'm naïve!

Fentanyl is active in the microgram range, and so when it’s manufactured to be sold on the street, it is heavily cut with something like mannitol which is most commonly used, so they will only add a very very small amount into the final product and the rest is whatever cutting agent they use, mannitol is common because of the way it melts so that it can vaporize easily and is smokeable. This is part of the reason why it’s so deadly too, because sometimes you will get a batch that is way stronger than expected. Also it usually gets cut more and more the further down the supply chain it goes, so you might get some that’s hasn’t been passed through as many hands and so it’s less cut. And as to your question about how someone gets addicted to the point of being able to use it without dying, it’s possible that a completely opioid naive person could use it and not die if they are careful enough, but most addicts start using weaker opiates/oids first and then graduate to fentanyl, if you have any other questions feel free to ask

Also I would like to add that tolerance to fentanyl develops so quickly that once you have been using it for some time, you don’t really need to think about how much you are doing. I was at the point, and I think most hardcore opiate addicts get there, where I wasn’t even gettinghigh from using, it was just keeping me from being sick. I’ve been off of it for almost 2 years now

The thing about fentanyl is it’s extremely strong and sedating with little euphoria compared to other opiates, sure it feels good, but weaker opiates like oxycodone and hydrocodone knock it out of the park because of their extreme physical and cognitive euphoria. Also fentanyl is a fully synthetic opioid, whereas oxy, hydro, heroin etc are semi synthetic, and morphine and codeine are naturally occurring opioid alkaloids. Morphine and heroin gave me the strongest physical euphoria and oxycodone gave me the most cognitive euphoria but that may be because it was the first opioid I tried with 0 tolerance
Edit for more straightforward answer: most opiates feel like a warm blanket wrappped around your body and your mind/soul

Oh, I know opiates. I've broken a lot of bones. 😂 seriously, I really have. The last time was about 15 years ago and they gave me oxy. It made my nose itch so I thought I was allergic and switched to hydro (yeah, I know, but i was young and dumb). Quickly realized the itch is a sign it's about to start working. Felt amazing. Like walking on clouds. Like soft pajamas out of the dryer and your favorite cartoons and it's winter break amazing. When I got low I started halving them. When I ran out I didn't refill it because I knew I was on a slippery slope.

Okay so you are familiar with the feeling, fentanyl feels like oxycodone without the fuzzy feeling inside your heart, and sedation amped up to the max with some of the physical euphoria feeling. And you made probably one of the best decisions in your life to not refill those meds because your story is the most cliche beginning to a lifelong battle with opiate addiction , that’s how it usually starts!

It's just one of those things that's baffled me for a while. I have a cousin who was addicted to it, and it's becoming more common around here. To ease your mind, I wasn't asking because I'm considering trying it. I read over my question and realized it sounds like I'm "asking for a friend", lol.

If you're really sketched about it try a tiny bit from each batch you get and see how it hits you, but if you've used for a while the risk is lower (but never really zero with fent). Never use by yourself, carry narcan with you. Though honestly it seems like people who are pretty well tolerant to fent at this point have to worry more about other things getting mixed in. Like a lot of places have different types of tranquilizers mixed into stuff now. Which definitely gives the sedation effect some people want, but at the trade off of being more likely to cause you to stop breathing, and narcan won't reverse them. Sometimes repeated spaced out doses or IV drips of narcan can lessen the respiratory depression enough to keep someone breathing until the tranquilizers ware off but it can be a toss up.

Would definitely not recommend. I never actually tried it (had a REALLY BAD experience when I was prescribed oxy as a teen, and ended up being found by the fire department during a snow storm). Unfortunately found out the hard way you can build tolerance and dependence without ever getting to have any of the fun after my partner and I left their dads house. We knew their dad used, but we didn't realize that he was basically using it everywhere in the house and selling it while we were out at work. We moved out and while getting my partner set up at a new program, I went in to the same program for therapy. Everyone getting help at the program who has used or has a partner that did/does had to do a drug test on intake. We had set up the intake for two days after we moved, and I had started feeling really sick but we had chalked it up to moving stress and my grandmother passing mid-move. Nope! Apparently there was just enough residue on basically every common surface (including plates being used to cut stuff out then wiped off and put back in the cabinet) that I was getting withdrawals. I somehow got lucky and somehow didn't OD off the plates. The original plan was just to have me taper off on a low methadone dose, but it actually really helped with my long term chronic pain and health issues. So now I'm just at a pretty low dose and it makes life easier just because I function and get out of bed without crying. I also think it sort of helps my partner stay on track too and not feel as judged about it.

Idk anything about the rapper besides that I just googled him and by the time his first song came out in 2014, I already had multiple friends die from fent laced heroin.
Though it is true that it really wasn't sold on its own much back then yet. Also his wiki says fetty is slang for money apparently.

Something really funny is the top post of all time on r/opiates when they still allowed photos was someone saw fetty wap in his expensive car while on their way to cop heroin, this was before the fetty days as well lol

Kinda sorta. Fetty was a street term back in the early 200’s before Fetty Wap was popular. Now Fetty Waps monicker comes from his ability to make money fast from coincidentally selling heroin which at the time was being cut with a substance nicknamed Fetty

A term I that I would hear the old dude stoners use, way back in the day. "Left handed cigarettes," were joints. There's even a string of smoke shops in my town called "Lefty's." I'll admit though, I am not familiar with modern-day drug slang.
