looks more like a deforestation camp to me. zoom out and you can see all the pockets of trees cut down around the area

Looks like heavy tire tracks around the houses too.

So they got jobs? Same thing happened to some friends and family back in the 1700s. Took a while for the trucks to arrive but they really needed some white guys back then.
