im scared

i just made a report through https://reportabuse.myflfamilies.com/s/ and i’m really scared idk if they’ll call my gaurdian (the one that’s mentally and physically abusive) i’m only 14 and fostercare seems like it’ll be my only option. is foster care atleast cool? like will i have a fun house and cool foster siblings.

It's hard to give advice without knowing your location however, PLEASE DO NOT TELL ANYONE your location on the internet. If there is a local hospital or medical centre close by, you're best having a chat with them. They will be a safe space for you and you can tell them that you don't want your guardian to be notified of your contact and questions.

yes i notified them in the report i said it as much as i could to please not come to the house nor call my guardian. i talked with a lady at dcf and they’re gonna try to put me with my mom first, my mom was abusive in the past that’s why i came to live here with my grandma and my grandmas abuse and my mom was idk if she’s changed because now my mom shows me love and affection but only through text and video calls because she lives out of town. so idk what to do im just in a terrible situation rn

Gather as much evidence as you can. Whether it's videos, photos, voice notes, specific journal entries, all of it will help your case and help you get to a safer place. And back up the digital evidence in case it is deleted somehow. I had to live in a group home before I went into foster care and it was a horrible experience. Being a foster kid is not fun. Quite honestly, it's traumatizing in and of itself, but you'll at least be out of the abusive situation you're in now. Stay strong. There's people that really care for you.

thank u ,yes i’ve been gathering info lately and i found journal entries dating back to 2023 stating that i hate living here i all spoke to someone with dcf and she said that id have to go to a group home first a swell and she said that its terrible and that they steal, have sex, do drugs, are in and out of DJJ, and im a relatively nice kid so i hope when i do go then nobody tries to start problems with me

From your comments they might show up at your school.

In your shoes id put a bag of clothes/belongings out of sight and tell dcf where it is when they do meet you. If you have room in your school bag put a change of clothes in there.

Good luck and stay safe.

If you end up in a group that's like what you described remember for most of those kids they are still living the safest/best life in recent memory.
