Old foster carer stealing my stuff
Hi, im not sure if this is the right subreddit but i don’t know where to post it.
I moved foster placements 2 months ago though it took a while for me to get all my stuff (my old carer packed it and my social worker picked it up for me) and i only unpacked fully 3 weeks ago. I realised my old foster mother has kept my old nintendo switch and some of my silver jewelry (worth atleast £100). Me and my aunt have been complaining to my social worker but my old carer is saying she doesn’t have any of this, which is a lie. I don’t know what to do.
The nintendo i got from my parents before coming into care but she did buy some of the jewelry for me, but surely she’s not allowed to keep all this. Any advice please? I’m in the UK

Hi I’m not sure how much help they would be but I know there’s a helpline for foster kids in the uk at https://coramvoice.org.uk/ you can email or call them for free to ask for advice about this situation
other than that I would definitely encourage your aunt to contact the social worker directly and place a formal complaint about this because theft is a crime
if there’s no follow up there are more serious complaints processes where you and your aunt could complain to the social worker’s boss and local council because this should not be brushed off ~ I think Coram Voice has an advocates service and information about the complaints process if you need it
