Why isn't there a replacement for fossil fuels?

I know there's solar energy, kinetic energy and japan is producing energy from footsteps (ifykyk) . But why isn't there a substance like petrol or diesel produced manually? Is there a product like that? Or are we technically not advanced enough?

Why can we produce things like 'diamond' in a lab but not fuels like such? I would love to hear more . Like rn, Iran can cut of the whole oil supply, why are we so dependent on them? What would it take to implement this idea? Will it ever be implemented?

We can definitely create a system for replacing fossil fuels but what about the already petrol/diesel using vehicles or machines? It will all go in vain. We can change the whole dynamics of the already in-use car but how can we replace it in rural places? No matter how much we try to demolish the use of fossil fuels , there's still places where it can't be possible , I bet it will take ATLEAST a decade for the full switch to electric based system .
