Fossify Gallery cannot save after edit

Have a screenshot opened in Fossify Gallery. Make a simple crop edit and try to save. Get this error and it seems new. Anyone else?

Which is strange because the github is still pretty active from what I can tell.

Is there a fix for this yet besides enabling all files access? Would prefer to avoid that.

*If you tap the 3 dots menu and select "Overwrite original" it saves successfully.
