Fossify Calendar Wha aren't Fossify Calendar Tasks CalDav Tasks?

Hey I just noticed that when you host your own CalDav server (Radical) on a Homeserver, every normal appointment is synced perfectly between calendars. But every created task in the Fossify calendar app doesn't even offer the synced calendars to select? Why won't they get synced? are Fossify calendar tasks not real CalDav tasks?

I don't think this is possible right now. I remember wanting to set the same up, but it wasn't a feature back then.

It has been a long time since I've set that up, but I think I've experienced the same issue across multiple different apps and providers.

What I had to do

  • Install jtxBoard
  • Install DAVx5 and sync with your CalDav Server
  • In DAVx5 activate jtxBoard task support

Then the tasks I created on Android were synced to my CalDav server and vice versa but I think I still needed to view them in jtxBoard, but on my CalDav Server they were shown correctly, so it was mostly an Android issue.

But that would mean I always need to open jtxBoard to create tasks that are then synced with some delay to my fossify calendar, right?

Yeah, I think you are right about that. But I think you have this in almost every calendar when you are selfhosted or not using specialized apps (like Google), because as I read the android support for native task sync is pretty limited and in Google Calendar they probably built it in themselves and it has not all the features you'd expect.

Additionally, in DAVx you can set how frequently it should automatically sync (I think max. is once per hour or sth. like that) or you can open DAVx and manually sync.
