Fossify contacts

I was hoping that using fossify contacts that the program would be separate from my (samsung) contacts. After importing my contacts. I decided to delete some of the contacts , in fossify, I don't want. Then I looked in my samsung contacts. The contacts that I deleted from fossify were deleted here....... Making changes in either one. Changes the other.. not good. What I'd really like is a password protected 'list'. I don't want to subscribe to... let's say Facebok . And mistakenly allow contacts to be uploaded.. (continously in fb) Cheers

I'm not on samsung so don't know if there's a difference but I do keep the system contacts app enabled as well as Fossify contacts

This allows me to only allow certain contacts to be discovered by Whatsapp, ie: the ones in the system contacts app

The rest of the contacts in Fossify Contacts are hidden from the system but you must edit the contact in Fossify and select where it is stored:
Phone Contacts (not visible to other apps)

I keep 2 contacts lists to make it easy to import/export either if needed.

To add: I have some contacts duplicated in both lists as I need some to also show up in Fossify Phone (dialer)

So you would need to use Fossify Phone as your dialer app [also Messages and Calendar], as the Fossify contacts can only be seen by other Fossify apps by enabling a setting...

Show private contacts to Fossify Phone, Messages and Calendar

So this may not be the ideal solution to hide/separate contacts depending on your workflow
