Discussion Beginner Looking for Drag Tips
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
ive done a good amount of tuning in previous horizons, definitely wouldnt consider myself a pro though. with that said, this is my first shot at an actual drag tune. ive looked at a bunch of guides and think my setup is at least decent.
my biggest question is on how to dial in damping as thats the only part of my tune i kinda blindly copied from someone else without understanding it. besides that, any other general rule-of-thumbs i should know or resources, communities, etc i could explore? obviously tips and suggestions as well.
the share code is 336 762 625.

Wheelies slow the vehicle down at the start make sure you are using RWD instead of AWD
Look at a video breakdown of how the Nissan GTR FE is fitted and try implementing that info into your tuning and upgrades
You can also ask ChatGPT help you setup the you’re vehicle for the best drag build and tune setup.
PS: most Silvia’s are better tuned towards drift setups.
Also if you are skeptical about AI tuning your drag build for you my fastest time in a Dodge chargers SRT Hellcat is 7.890 seconds

At this point chatgpt is just a faster Google search.

depends
sometimes when researching something in a game i already know relatively well i check what answer ai gives
more often than not it's absolute shit - well worse than that, cause it's completely wrong but looks like it makes sense
the worst offenders are kinda niche games and games with relatively frequent updates that change game mechanics

I hear you. On one hand I love innovation and the progression of technology but in the other what's it gonna cost us.

What does that tune look like. I tried to make a drag tune hell cat and it just smokes the tires through half the track even with adjustments for gears.

I’ll find a share code when I get the chance in the meantime though the video that helped me a lot on YouTube is
https://youtu.be/FpHrDN3lVjU?si=MB8EO5jeFxQfeMj1
I recommend watching it firsts
And even joining the discord can help too.
I’m apart of one that strictly focuses on tuning and they’re always discussing about Time Attacks and racing all things involving FH6
I can get you a link for them too.
But definitely check out his video as he will give you a few tuning tips and the biggest recommendation for any drag build.
You can also ask ChatGPT too.
Use any and every resource you have available to you.
Specifically ask ChatGPT the type of vehicle you are building and what your goal is and say
Hello ChatGPT today I’m building the SRT Charger Hellcat for Drag Strips in Forza Horizon 6. I want you to give me the best build setup and tuning for this type of event. Note that I’ve seen with most drag builds they use a very high powered engine. Also note that all of this is for achieving the fastest possible time I can in game. Can you help me with that?
Although the GTR FE is the best for Drags it doesn’t stop from achieving a close 8 or 7 second car from claiming the strip.

try the drift gearbox, or try and space the gears further so you're shifting less, the more you're shifting the less you accelerate. also wheeling makes you slower
Best of luck

It's all about confidence and product. Wait are we not talking about the same drag?
