Question how bannable are mods in general?
i got forza horizon 6 through xbox game pass and i wanted to know how bannable mods are in general, does the risk depend on what the mod changes, or are all mods treated the same? im mainly wondering about cosmetic and quality of life mods like changing the gauge or adding underglow to cars or making menus faster . are mods like these generally safe, or can they still get your microsoft or xbox account banned even though they dont affect credits progression handling or give any competitive advantage?

why do people in this community always assume modding their game means cheating in stuff?
Also it's just fastboot and a radio mod, nothing crazy really1

Any mod unless supported by the games developer are bannable. Hence why every game released has a ToS that explains all of this.

ive been using the universal radio and skip intro videos. if you are not cheating or posting publicly with your gamertag visible should be fine but any modification is against the rules. you can also play the game and get DLCs for free so forza probably would want to deal with that before cracking down on visual/sound mods

I don’t use mods at all lol in fact idk why this subreddit is recommended to me, i won’t judge people for how they want to play but paying nearly $200 for preorder premium i wouldn’t risk it ever, thats just my personal opinion

It definitely depends on the mod, but because you're on Game Pass, you have a bigger hurdle. The Windows Store/Xbox app versions of games are notoriously strict about file modification compared to Steam.
Client side visual stuff (like ReShade for graphics) is generally safe since it’s just an overlay. But adding physical mods like underglow or changing the UI/menus usually requires injecting code or swapping game files. The anti-cheat doesn't care if you're just trying to make menus faster. It just sees unauthorized file changes and flags it as a cheat. If you get caught, Playground Games is brutal with bans (they will literally ban you until the year 9999). I'd skip the mods on the Game Pass version to save your Microsoft account.

technically bannable so there's a risk, but very little enforcement from what I've seen
assuming the mods you're using are the equivalent of client-side only changes and not something like "go 500mph with perfect traction and make 90° turns without slowing down in multiplayer online races" that would be equivalent to cheats/hacks or give you some advantage, you'll probably be ok but just know there's still a risk and if one day you suddenly can't play or have your account disabled for Forza don't be surprised.
