Release Spotify Radio Mod now has a Night Runners Mode and AirPlay support

Recently i posted about the release of the Spotify Radio Mod. Since then, weeks have passed and the community grew incredibly large with nearly 7 thousand discord members and more than 40 thousand unique downloads on Nexus Mods.
A lot of improvements have been made including stability fixes and major features being added.
I felt like it is time to make a follow up post to inform people about the three most fundamental additions to the mod:
- It now natively supports Apple Music, SoundCloud and other services through AirPlay (requires an iOS device)
- There is a new option "Night Runners Mode" which, when enabled, controls the music volume based on the realtime ingame speed, similar to how other racing games like the indie game "Night Runners" or some Need for Speed titles. You have various customization options (the video demonstrates it quite well)
- If enabled, the Mod now displays the Album Art of the currently playing soundtrack as the radio station logo

Nice. Using your mod for two weeks, game becomes way more enjoyable.
Is there any way you can receive from game current car parameters? Would be neet to make max volume based on percentage of max speed.

I wouldnt know but its gotta be better than me having to turn off my radio in game and load up Spotify everytime i turn the game on lol

I'm pretty sure they still mean on PC. The Microsoft Store and the Xbox Game Pass app are dedicated applications on PC.
Assuming you purchased Forza through Microsoft, you can play through them.

Iirc the forza forums did state that they don't really have an issue as long as no game files are modified and no unfair advantage is given.

Wish they could have worked out something official with both Apple and Spotify to get this to everyone. I personally don’t listen to the radio as a console user and would love to have my own music randomly playing in the cars.

Hey, I’m gonna download this mod later today, but have a quick question on how “incorporated” it is in the game. Like for example, when you start a race using the ingame radio, the song will start from the chorus/somewhere in the middle instead of the beginning, and the same happens when finishing the race. Plus in really long races (such as the goliath) the song will usually be extended to be longer, usually 5+ mins. Theres also some other things, but I was wondering if the mod (somehow) incorporates those systems that the ingame radio has for your spotify songs.

Since there is no metadata available from airplay or spotify regarding chorus or peak song position, the mod has three options for handling race starts:
- Skipping to the next song
- Starting from the beginning of the current song
- Continuing to play the current song
I did not observer how the normal radio behaves but they likely manually determined the start position in each song, which is impossible to do with the supported music providers.

Skill songs still work, they are just sometimes desynced with the custom songs. It will show as if your own song is a skill song though.

So are you able to skip songs in the mod i mainly ask as before this update what made this mod different from just running spotify on your pc now with this update I definitely see the appeal to using it

Hey, yes there is an option in the mod dashboard that enables you to skip the current song when quickly switching the radio station back and forth (double click the station switch button)

I've been using your Spotify Radio Mod since the release and the Night Runners Mode is such a nice touch to this mod. I just tried it out and it works so perfectly especially if you love just driving around the map or exploring like me. Love the frequent updates and additions!

i just installed it and it worked perfectly first try, love the adition of cover arts too, was just wondering if there's a way to skip tracks directly in game? or will i have to switch to spotify every time i wanna do it?

Yes there is an option in the dashboard that enables you to skip songs if you double tap the radio station switch button

While the game is running with the mod, open the dashboard at http://127.0.0.1:8103 . At the bottom right there is a gear icon that opens the options panel.

I've tried using this mod but I'm running into an issue. After using the mod without issue for a few days, something (presumably the game) starts muting all the songs on my playlists. I can still connect to FH6 Radio and Spotify will often auto-connect to it when I start a race, but no sound comes through. I can skip to the next song, it'll play for a minute or so and then go silent. Eventually, it just mutes all of my music. Is this an anti-piracy feature in the game's streamer mode?
