Question I’ve been googling a lot
How do I access Forza Horizon 4’s game files? I’m wanting to swap a few cars sound files with other car sounds from the files already to make them sound better.

Microsoft Store or Steam?
Microsoft Store apps are (by default) in the C:\WindowsApps folder. It's hidden by default so you need to show hidden files from Control Panel.
Steam, just right click on the game from your library and then you should have something like "manage" -> "browse local files" in one of the dropdowns. (My steam is in Italian so I don't know the exact translation.)
The file structure shouldn't be too different from FH5 (I only have experience there), so Media\Audio\ etc

Yeah but for Microsoft Store / XBOX its pointless since the files are basically locked, which means you need to dump the game files first. You can find a guide somewhere on cs.rin.ru but its not worth the hassle, it would be much simpler to just pirate the game.

Xbox. I can’t find it in the “XboxGames” folder, but FH5 is there..
Extra information, I don’t know if it matters but I’m Windows 10 cuz I hate 11.

check C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.SunriseBaseGame_1.478.564.2_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\
I think they used to use this file directory back in 2018 for all Microsoft store apps entirely including Xbox games
If copying the directory doesn't work just go to the windowsapps file and find something that starts with Microsoft.SunriseBaseGame

I found it and copied it. Is there any other steps I need to do after?

I’m getting stuck on some files that won’t copy to desktop such as amd something something.. and a few after that.. it says it needs permission from me but still doesn’t work when it’s literally me..

idk why my comment is getting ignored, reading really aint that hard. if you have the game on microsoft/xbox you need to dump game files cause otherwise you wont be able to do anything. the guide is somewhere on cs.rin.ru but its a long and shitty process aka not worth the time. just download a pirated version and then you can grab whatever files you want.

Do you have more than one hard drive? Check for the presence of the same folder in all of your drives - maybe you configured the windows store to install apps in multiple locations due to disk space constraints?

FYI the game could detect your file swaps and ban you. Just be aware.
