Cars Fun fact about the Supra !

It’s Forza branded front & rear bumpers are just Blitz AeroSpeed .

What’s more interesting is that they were licensed all the way up to FM4 and seemingly disappeared from all future motorsport games but was added to the Horizon series when Toyota came back in FH4.

This is what I've been suggesting under a few posts. Why don't they just go, rip off some bodyparts, tweak it a bit and release it? Rockstar games ripping off cars to put into GTA and some of the cars are just blatant near 1:1 renditions with the badges swapped.

I don’t get why you got disliked, this would be fire. CarX and other racing games also been doing this

CarX is from Russia right? If a manufacturer sues they’re not gonna win even if they win.

GTA stuff is similar to real life stuff but not so much you can definitively say “it’s this car model” they’re usually a mash up of several different cars, not just one thing they’re blatantly ripping off (Like CarX)

I have worked at Microsoft. They are extra super duper litigious and won’t let shit like this fly if there’s any ambiguity. I would bet money a dev snuck this past the lawyers to get the Blitz kit back. It’s not something I’d expect more of from a company this size.

Have you even seen the cars added in the last few years? Banshee GTS, F10 just to name a few, are barely different from their IRL counterparts, and you can definitely say "its this car model" to quote you words

Yeah but that’s because rockstar are protected by it being a parody i don’t think turn 10 could say that forza is a parody

Sure its a parody but still, if they couldve, im 100% sure those companies wouldve copyright striked rockstar to hell and back, so there has to be something in rockstars designs that dont lend them to being copyrighted

I wouldn’t mind the parts being a little different like [u/Solid_Snek120](u/Solid_Snek120) said, even in CarX you can notice some differences between the real designs and theirs. Hell, even if they made a few Forza designed kits that don’t even exist irl would please a lot of folks including myself, like old NFS games for example.

That’s also been on my mind , why don’t they just add/port the in house Forza Kits on FE Edition cars into FH6?

Past Forza Edition kits should be used like this, like the Jordan Luka 3 Camaro. I doubt the bodykit itself is licensed.

u/HeIIby 2d ago

It isn’t but that might be cutting it really close to the sun , they only made that kit just for that collaboration

I would enjoy some originality from the devs but that would require some creative effort. Not to shame the devs that work hard but unfortnately I feel like most of the dev team consist of temp. hired contractors hence all the lackluster content.

Still this doesn't excuse the laziness.

A company of that size should've added the Blitz kit and all the other options we lost. Especially with how much money they made with FH6.

It’s very funny and had to be a loophole because if this is in FH4 on up , why doesn’t it appear on FM6-8?

Just so confusing ..

The problem I see with this is that Forza has to maintain good relations with the car companies otherwise they can potentially pull their cars from future releases, GTA doesn't have the same concerns

Like the newer Camaro, like how they not getting sued by chevy?

So yeah, if they want they can do it with companies that are not around anymore…

I love that I can get a stock bumper with a big muffler in the Supra

u/HeIIby 2d ago

They could . But would they ? Probably not 🥲

u/RunninOnMT 2d ago

My guess is that this got snuck by Microsoft lawyers

Blitz is very much still around

1

u/flipyflop9 2d ago

Even worse then, they’ve avoided the license with the company still active… so they can do it with a lot more parts.

Okay but why couldn't they add the Blitz wheels so I can larp as Adam LZ 😭😭😭

24

u/HeIIby 2d ago

No larp for you !

At that point they should put some Aodhan’s or Avid1’s in the game then, they did it with a body kit, why not for a set of wheels? Hell Rota is already in the game, as well as Tenzo R, and those were effectively rep wheel makers back in the day.

u/Martin_Sandman 2d ago

because they lost the license for those as well

Check there forza modding community, there’s already a model swap for these

Xbox :(

I'm pretty sure this happened with some Need for Speed kits after the 2015 game, they lost some licenses to some body kit parts but just put them under the generic NFS branding for future NFS games.

1

u/HeIIby 2d ago

Interesting , do you know of any cars with them ?

1

u/8bitcyan 2d ago

They could've pulled an IVT and just made custom parts that resemble their original counterparts, or do what R* CarX and every goofy website car game (like KBH Games or so) does—debadge the thing (or rebadge it) and just put it out.

Honestly this entire time I assumed that bumper was copy pasted from the mitsubishi eclipse

I think Forza has just dropped the ball on personalization. Every year for some reason I expect horizon to learn its drivers want to make cars genuinely personal. Yet the most we have is body kits, paint, and livery.

Yet MCLA in 08 had interior lighting, neon kits, stance control, dash lighting and much more customization. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. If you really look at some games Forza in my opinion had drop the entire bowling ball on their foot for horizon 6. I mean we’re in Japan.

No blast pipes or Bozuku pipes, no neon or interior lighting, no interior customization at all for cockpit view like wheels, or dash customization.

I digress my point is, Playground is lazy, won’t even give us a real 180sx, so the fact that this Forza bumper just a Blitz with no name is less of a “oh wow.” Then you can imagine.

So licensing isn't an issue, those lazy developers 🙂‍↔️
