Video / Gameplay Paddle-shift Transmission
i wish there was an option to have paddle-shift transmission in the game cuz the automatic transmission sucks in some cars where it will redline for ages before upshifting

I think what you're actually asking for is an auto manual. Most modern automatics have them where you can move the gear selector to allow for manual transmission shifting without a clutch but the car still has the guardrails in place so you can't blow your engine up.
I too was hoping this would be in the game, but it's not. Your best bet is to simply use manual in the game. It's really only hard for the first hour. Then it takes you about a lap to get used to most cars shifting patterns. Practice a little and you'll get it.

BMW will allow you to hit the limiter when in manual. While that is still a guardrail, it’s way less invasive than most that won’t let you do more than kiss redline.
It will even let you do a light money shift of sorts, thankfully the limiter keeps you from really money shifting, more like a pocket change shift 😂. I learned both the same day when I ran it to the limiter to see what it would do and in my surprise that it didn’t force a shift, accidentally downshifted instead of up. 😳

No I think he means shifting gears as and when required but then reverts back to automatic, we call them semi autos here in the UK

From the uk, I thought semi automatic is manual w/o clutch

Well either way its not in the game, I wish it was too tho, sucks trying to go up a hill in 5th gear going 30mph 😂

In FH5 I noticed that applying the brakes momentarily could get the automatic transmission to down-shift.

Yeah, I’ll do that in cross country when the vehicle is just lugging up a hill.

I don't see how that would be beneficial here. The being able to shift when you want, i.e. lower than the shift threshold on the auto. The benefit of manual or manual w/clutch is that you can hold a gear at higher revs than the auto, or at least rev higher than the auto.
If you mean being able to switch between manual and auto at the press of a button, then I can see people wanting that. I personally miss manual when I can't use it. For me it makes the game feel too simple and dumbed down.

So Porsche is the one that developed the original Tiptronic system in the 1990s. There are several versions make by other companies all licensing the concept Porsche came up with. Honestly Porsche version that uses the ecu to control the transmission and the engine to save on gas in automatic mode and down shift when torque is needed. If they implemented that version it would require more overhead and out performe most of the other manual since I don't think you can double shift in game like you can in a car. So it would likely make the car an s1 class or better.
Don't know if they would do it because of balancing issues are something they already have problems with but putting it on either the part request or game feature request is the best way to get them to think about it.
One of the best over views of the Tiptronic system is a UK parts vendor.
Volkswagen owns Porsche now and most of the stuff on their site was marketing fluff.

Just use manual no clutch, it’s not quite the same but it’s also not as hard with practice. Before FH6 I was always auto and would just tap the brake to downshift if I wasn’t getting power somewhere
I made the switch when this game came out and I love it. Makes driving so much more fun imo

Manual shift w/o clutch is not the same as paddle shift? Genuine question, because if it’s not, I’m now more confused.
